i was in a loud bar so forgive me for asking this question that was potentially answered by analysts/commentators.

how did the 2 minute long water break not impact the stoppage time in the first half at all? we had meireles acting like beckerman killed him among other incidents as well.

Yea, except...that's not the way those two games are played.

no fricking clue how that was 2 minutes other than the "shorter injury time in the first half" bullshite i've heard before

again

what would be wrong with an objective, public time being kept that determined stoppage time?

He won't answer that question. Just reminds you that you don't understand enough about the game.

Ummm, nothing. But I'm not the one asking for it, so you'll have to make that argument I guess. 95% of people are fine with it the way it is.

And hockey should substitute only at dead clock. I think the idiosyncrasies are what make each sport and golf unique.

Only in soccer can something as concrete as timekeeping become arbitrary. Lol

You're really dense aren't you? It's not at all arbitrary. What you really don't like is that YOU don't know the actual time.

Again what's laughable about it? Blaming the amount of extra time is looking for a scape goat. I hate the result but am by no means crying for change to a system that works just fine in Mt opinion. I beats the ref throwing up X arms to signify stopping the clock whrn he feels a player has stayed down too long. Because that brings a whole ne level of arbitrary behavior.

well it's just way too subjective. for instance, the US should have gotten one last possession

once we got out on the break the ref was like

That's a cute gif but really adds nothing. Unless this is back to conspiracy of which I don't think there is one.

We should make a deal:

"Redskins" goes away ... and in return ... everyone gets to know exactly how much time is left in a fricking soccer game.

yeah i dont get that either. i will say that stoppage time is the one thing that has always left me relatively confused as a fan. can there not be any additions once stoppage time starts? why not?

as a player, it honestly never bothered me. in high school in georgia, you can see the clock and they stop the clock for certain shite and it counts down and ends on a buzzer. in club, you only really have a clock in your head and when you ask a ref, so it just isnt an issue. it's odd that it bothers me when watching games and playing FIFA or some shite, but that i never thought twice about it when playing.
