Easy fix for this is to go play PES for a month. Once Iniesta moves to Leicester and Sergio Ramos moves to Barca you'll come running back to FIFA

I'm not gonna buy it unless they make some serious updates to manager mode.

A non-broken training system for youth players would be nice.

For real it's beyond frustrating when you go a season or two and only a couple guys go on loan

Or when clubs like Chelsea and Madrid want to take my players from Kaiserslautern on loan

I don't plan on buying another version until they massively redo manager mode. Would buy FM in a heartbeat if they made a console version.

FIFA 18 is so realistic that opposing players throw bricks at him.

Have the designers actually learn about the clubs

How does a brand as large as the FIFA video game series not have someone working for them that knows this. It wouldn't be hard to find a couple nerds that watch a lot of soccer to come in and help the designers out. Let them know what would and wouldn't make sense in the real world of soccer and apply that to the game.

An advantage EA has over some other video game developers is guaranteed sales of their sports game franchises. People are going to buy Madden and FIFA every year, no matter what. Soccer and American football aren't going anywhere so the content creates itself. No need for fresh ideas when you're putting out the same product every year.

Yeah. So many people are so addicted to FUT that they're going to buy early every single year and get the special editions and buy the packs.

It's possible for EA, though. I've seen how they've changed Madden and NHL franchise modes in recent years. It's not the same studios, but still.

I used to say this before I got balls deep into FM this last year, but it truly would be weird as frick if they made a console version.

I don't really see how it would work w/ the interface and what not, especially since to run the game w/ all of the real team names, leagues and what not you have to download files and install them manually into the game's files.

If you have a decent computer you can run like 12-15 leagues flawlessly on FM. I know this last year they had a demo you could play and then once it ran out you could buy the game and keep your save going. As someone who also only played FIFA for the manager mode, FM is bar none a greater game in each and every way. Winning the league or Champions League w/ a custom mad tactic is one of the most fulfilling things I've ever done in a game.

That and telling the City hierarchy to frick off and sending Maffeo and Diaz off as club legends w/ their testimonials after 300+ appearances. Having random players literally go down in your club's history and winning you a competition is so fun.

The World Cup 98 game is still one of my favorite games of all time.

PES has this. The capabilities are there. Just give people an editor.

I haven't played FIFA in at least 3 months. I prefer playing Manager Mode above all else, but I'm pretty tired of the same thing happening in every career that I begin.

there are ways to spice it up a bit

for openers get a second controller and use custom tactics to get your opponents to play different styles. There's a guide on operationsports. It's a little bit of a pain but it helps a lot.

secondly always use your press conferences. Whether you're needling the opposing manager or praising your star player, it adds another storyline and adds some variety to the gameplay as well.

I thought it was proven that the PCs ultimately do nothing at all?

Adds a storyline for commentary to use on match day.

And the Custom Team Tactics that DS is referring to are awesome.

that may be true, i don't know. It feels like it does have an effect but it could be placebo.

Right the commentators will reference it in game but as far as gameplay it has zero effect correct?
