Well that first half was not inspiring. We badly need a second striker and and winger. Hibbo looks awful.

Hibbo announces his retirement after tonight if he's smart. Friendly or not, that was one of the worst individual performances in a half I've ever seen. He just doesn't fit Martinez's system at all. He was serviceable under Moyes, but not anymore.

Stones needs to stop being cute. His performances late in the season last year have clearly gotten to his head.

And sign Nolito up. He has fantastic spacing, neat on the ball, a great shot, and works defensively.

Agree with all of that. One hell of an audition for Goalito

The only problem with signing Nolito at this point would be that he wouldn't get to run at Hibbo every game.

Second half was much better, despite the result.

Besic and Browning were both impressive, IMO

2nd half was much improved. I think it will be Besic and McCarthy in the middle in the important games this season. Barry just can't handle teams with pace that move the ball quickly. He'll still be important, though.

If Coleman can't go against Leicester, Stones or Browning will fill in. There's no way Hibbo sees much time after today's game.

If the Nolito rumors are true, a potential lineup of

looks fantastic. And if Nolito doesn't happen, Pienaar in his spot is still good. I'd take that on Aug. 16.

From the Everton website:

quote:

The third kit is predominantly white and blackberry with yellow detailing and features all the performance attributes required for the modern game.

Steven Naismith said: "It's a really smart, stylish kit and will really stand out on the pitch. I like that it's so different to the home and away strips.I know the third kit is popular in the dressing room so hopefully the fans will like it too."

The white jersey features a v-neck wrap-over collar with a high-stretch rib for comfort whilst a mesh stripe gives the shirt a stylish finish.

On the back of the shirt, there are eight laser-cut ventilation holes, with the top one on each side in the shape of the Toffee Tower, giving a unique sign-off for the Club.

The blackberry shorts and socks, with yellow trip, complete the look.

I'll reserve judgment until I see it in the upcoming game.

I pulled the trigger on the away about 5 minutes after seeing the third kit.
