What is wrong with Oscar? How long is he supposed to be out? I'd like to see what he could do with Hazard and Pedro.

Also, Matic has been pretty awful so far this season. Just slow, dumb, lazy, and clumsy.

Picked up something in training. I don't think it has been made public.

Keep Willian on the pitch. Oscar is a defensive liability and is shite in the attack other than the odd "being set up on a silver platter type goal. He has moments, but so does Ramires. Willian provides cover for Matic (and the defense) and still gets forward. I believe Mo saw enough today. I predict Oscar and Ramires will only see action in lesser cups and due to injury.

Oscar for Willian easy. Until he starts to slide.

Willian blows it even when set up on a silver platter.

Willian has shite the bed in front of goal...but I still like him better than Oscar. Especially now that we have Pedro. FWIW, I don't think Oscar has worked hard enough to be in "silver platter" range on a very consistent basis. I would keep hi as a sub, but not Ramires.

I much prefer Oscar over Willian. Oscar has creativity and can score goals. He also provides creative service. He has learned that he has to bust arse to see the field. I am perfectly fine subbing Oscar in the 60-70th minute for Mikel or Willian depending on the game.

I actually think Willian as a 70th minute sub is perfect because his fresh pace against a tired fullback is a mismatch. He can bust it for 30 minutes and create opportunities even if you have to hope he isn't required to finish those opportunities.

Yea Willian would be much better as a sub, when trying to defend a lead, or in a match where we need to play more defensively.

Jose stated after the WBA game that he wants both Pogba and Stones. Sounds like we are willing to spend the $90+ it will take for Pogba.

Stones + Pogba locks up key positions for Chelsea for a decade. Zouma and Stones pairing is tall and athletic. Pogba can do anything we want alongside Matic and Fab.

I would assume we look something like:

Courtois
Ivon Terry Zouma Dave
Pogba Matic
Pedro Cesc Hazard
Costa

On my phone, so best I can do typing a formation

Maybe most importantly, moving Cesc into a more forward role uses his best traits and he won't be required to defend as much.

Pogba's not moving this summer. There's about a 5% chance IMO. I would be so ecstatic if we got him, but it's just not going to happen unless we pay £100 million +. Juve has no reason to sell and they know we want him. That coupled with the fact a ton of clubs want him just drives the price up.

They want Cuadrado... How does that play in?

It's reportedly just a season long loan.

Just can't see Juve selling Pogba for anything less than a world record shattering fee. They aren't going to try to sell the guy they just gave the #10 shirt to after already losing Vidal and Pirlo this summer. I can see him moving next summer and that would require Chelsea to persuade him to come to London over Barcelona, Madrid, the Manchester clubs and Paris.

Maybe we are behind the scenes but I don't know why we wouldn't try to package him and Oscar or him and Matic or something along those lines.

Supposedly with an intent to buy after the loan is up.

Why not just go ahead and do it now then?

Not sure.

Everton appears to be balking on Stones by the way.

Deputy Chairman Jon Woods on Stones: "I won't sell him, Bill won't sell him."

Lukaku advising Stones to stay

quote:

"John is playing and is learning a lot from [Everton and England defender] Phil Jagielka," Lukaku said.

"He's been here two years now but this is the year where he really needs to confirm he is the top player he can be.

"This club has massive potential, with the players we have and the ambition the manager has. He is in a good place. He's on to a good thing."

Even with all that, there's no reason to think that it could not still happen.

Four. He signed a five year deal for about £30,000 a week around this same time last year.

So, we need to be in his ear offering double the wages.

Pros for Chelsea:
- Bigger club
- Compete for more/better titles
- Get paid more

Cons for Chelsea:
- Compete for playing time / sit the bench in 50-70% of the matches

I think the playing time fear has to be overcome with the wages + the long-term pitch of Stones/Zouma pairing being the Chelsea future. he can learn from one of the best ever in Terry and then transition into more of a starting role as Terry sunsets.

Everton are going to sell him HARD on playing time. And, they should.

Here is a video of Kenedy for the those who have not seen him play: LINK

Hulk is a good comparison, but I think he is a bit more agile. I actually see a lot of Arjen Robben in him. Kenedy loves his left foot and his specialty is cutting back from RW onto his left.

He has an attacking/goal scoring mindset. 1:20 is a great example of this as is 3:50 in the video. He seems to have decent bend and power.

Decent moves but loses the ball, even in his highlights. When he executes the dribble he looks dangerous.

Has nice touch and weight on multiple passes so (granted this is a highlight reel) that is nice to see.

Defensively, hard to tell from the video but it looks like he tracks back some (as we know Jose will require). When he intercepts the ball, his mind instantly goes to counter attack. He has no problem dribbling large amounts of space to accelerate the counter.

My biggest concern is reliance on the left foot...he looks to favor it wayyyy too much.
