THIS. It's not that Jones is bad. But one of them needs to focus on defense. We should not be getting killed on the counter away like this.

Pretty sure the guy who sent in the cross was offsides. Also Bradley/Jones is not our best partnership. Jones should be a situational player not an automatic starter

They need to figure out their roles. I would much rather Bradley be forward since JJ can't make a pass it seems.

It's been almost two years and they haven't figured it out yet. And Bradley is better than jones at literally everything

Maybe you see things we don't bc you watch the Bundesliga. And Jones obviously performs well enough to keep a starting role for schalke. And I trust jurgen who obviously sees value in jones plays. I just never see jones bring that much to the table for the USMNT.

Still not sure why Jurgen thinks Jones should be so far up and Bradley so far back. Good challenge by Jones there.

Maybe Jurgen thinks Jones is better at creating the initial pressure and Bradley is better at starting the attack? Not many teams assign to their center mids one defined job.

Maybe. I still love seeing Bradley spearhead the attack further up the pitch rather than standing directly in front of the back 4.

Not a bad showing. Should be 1-1 at least. I thought we did ok creating chances to score and our corners look really good. Defense is still needs some improvement.

Since this is a friendly, I'm definitely acting like the score is 1-1 now. I mean that goal was so blatant, hopefully we won't get hosed like that in the World Cup. (Although we almost certainly will.)

Good point, Bradley is always the one starting the attack back near the CBs. Don't think anyone would rather Jones doing that
