AS Monaco Appreciation Thread

Monaco clinched the Ligue 1 title today, their first since 1999-00.
Their climb back to relevance has been quite interesting. Their billionaire owner bought them when they were in Ligue 2, and they tried to spend their way to a title... the Falcao and Moutinho and James signings. The whole Monaco tax thing really worked out for them, too.
But they couldn't quite catch up with PSG that way.
So when the owner loses like a huge chunk of his fortune in a divorce, they're forced to focus on developing young talent and making smarter buys.
They've pumped out Martial, Carrasco, Kondogbia, Kurzawa and now Mbappe and Fabinho.
They played a fun style this season, made a great run in the UCL and now have a title to show for it.
So here's to you, Monaco. It's always good to see the end to a one-team stranglehold on a title, at least for one season.

Finish top in their CL group, of which they were initially ranked last.
(CSKA, Leverkusen, Spurs, Monaco)

Hope they don't get gutted too much this summer. I'd like M'Bappe to stay there....don't know if that will happen though.
Excited to see Youri there.

Don't forget Lemar and Bakayoko(sp?). Really glad they won their league and found myself pulling for them even against Dortmund who I always like to see do well. They played fearless and were fun as hell to watch. I'll echo that I hope they aren't gutted this summer and all these young guys don't go rot somewhere.
ETA: How badass would it be to be young, rich, and living in fricking Monaco?

Kondogbia
I believe he was technically from their mini-galactico phase... he was purchased from Sevilla (from Lens)..
But yes, their strategy (albeit somewhat forced), has paid off big time!

I think thats another reason they changed strategies, because that exemption was abolished by the league... I could be wrong..

Valere Germain and Danijel Subasic are guys who were there for the Ligue 2 title and now the Ligue 1 title.

POOR, PERSECUTED PSG
This is adorable. This isn't shitting on PSG. I enjoyed watching Monaco this season, and they produce great young players. I don't get why a PSG fan would try to downplay how much they've dominated Ligue 1 the past four seasons, but it's cool. The big dogs get taken down every once in a while.
ETA: I really don't care where the Monaco players go. I think Mbappe is gonna go to Real Madrid or somewhere that's well ahead of United right now. Besides, United got a Monaco player I liked before this whole title run.

The VP said "No amount of money" in regards to selling Mbappe
I root for PSG... Zlatan was main reason. I enjoy the Ligue 1 and try and watch as often as I can.
Root for all the French teams TBH. So much talent in the league and from the country.
