So, let's say this does happen tomorrow. That means Perez will have 2 weeks to get acclimated before he is expected to suit up, right? Also, will Mustafi be called into the German team? It'd be nice if he wasn't.

I know most don't know much about Perez, but would he be expected to play before Giroud? Or will it depend on the opponent? I would think Mustafi would slot in at right CB with Kos.

Perez can play anywhere in attacking 3rd. He's pacey and a decent finisher. He had 17 goals and 8 assists last season for a team mired in a relegation battle. I've seen some people compare Perez to Vardy. So make what you will about that.

Better late than never I guess.

And Arsenal should win their group.

I know PSG spend a lot of money, but ive never really been that impressed with them. They get anybody to replace ibrahimovic?

So if we end up with Xhaka, Mustafi, and Perez, it's an okay signing period, at least by our standards. We should still be driving the market instead of waiting for things to work out just right for us to get low hanging fruit that is surplus at a super club.

We're barely keeping pace. I'm not jumping-up-and-down excited, but I'm not as frustrated as I was yesterday.

Decent signing period. Outclassed by our true competitors in the league though.

We will have basically spent 100m and improved the spine of the team. The only frustrating part about it is that we didn't get business done before the season started.

Okay? When was the last time we spent 100 mil in a window? This is the best transfer window we've ever had, if these two deals go through. Two players above 30 mil pounds and a player for nearly 20 mil pounds.

I think Perez is just the type of player Arsenal need. I've only seen a few games, but he seems like a guy who isn't exactly overwhelmingly awesome, but he's competent in front of goal AND he provides something a lot different than Giroud.

I saw somebody compare him to Shane Long.

Id say ok. These deals could have been done. We all know it. Wenger and co just are cheap fricks and low ball everything. I get trying to find value, but you end up doing that at the expense of wins.

Let's just hope Wenger gets it right on the pitch, which is a whole other issue.

Did we bring giroud, Santi and per the same season? They weren't overly expensive players, but all of them would have went for more in today's market.

All those players were good bargains. All under 20 mil. Santos and Gervinho were below par. The most underrated signing of 2011 was Benayoun. Very solid squad player for us. Regardless, we lost Nasri and Fabregas that summer as well, so I'd rate that summer the worst one we've had in memory.

If Ornstein is right, paying quality money for a young CB and a young DM as well as attempting to fill our striker problems is better than any summer.

Oh, but that's the issue. This should have been in last summer's window.

Yeah i think Holding is going to turn out to be a good signing as well. Can't leave him off the list.

Wasn't he a winter window signing?

This has been, on paper, a very good window. Except for the delay in getting Mustafi.

Mustafi and Xhaka are both excellent signings. Internationals at positions of need, and quality internationals too.

Perez is a wait and see but at least he's a striker. When we get Welbeck back we should have options up top health permitting.

Very good window on the whole. An elite striker would have made it superb, but we spent a good bit and got a good bit.

ETA: I also think a Koscielny-Mustafi pairing could be the best in the league and we may have the best back five in the Prem now. Back 6 including Xhaka.
