It's been the higher ups ultimately for a while. Wenger is simply a pawn that they dangle b/c of his past accomplishments. AW is a great manager but even great managers need tools. Mourinho is proof of that. He wins everywhere he goes b/c of $$$.

Honestly, I think we are a championship caliber team if we did something about our positioning. Our team shape in anything other than the low block is awful, and Wenger doesn't seem to play the low block without Mert. Players need to work together to make angles. Offensively Coquelin, Walcott, and Bellerin did a real poor job against Leicester in their spacing.

This is something I wish we would work on, because proper spacing by itself could probably win us games as much as new signings.

We have great individual defenders. Bellerin, Kos, and Monreal are all top 3 at their positions in the league. We just lack defensive organization. We have actually improved in that area in the last couple of years but there is still room for alot of improvement. When we press we look decent even though it's disjointed for the most part. I think that a high press would suit us.

Marca reports we will sign Deportivo striker Lucas Perez tomorrow. 18 goals in 37 La Liga matches last year. 27 years old. Scored 11 in their first 15 last year.

Don't trust it, but whatever.

quote:

l Arsenal is the fate of Lucas Pérez for the next three or four seasons. Except turnabout during the day, the Galician front gunner player will be tomorrow. During yesterday, in Corunna, it was total agreement between the two clubs for the transfer of the player. In the end, Arsenal will pay the termination clause of Lucas Pérez -20 million euros, and striker Arsene Wenger will he ever wanted.

Seems this may be for real. Says Everton wanted him too.

Don't think he'll be worse than Giroud. I'm just tired of this "fair-to-middling-striker-by-committee" game we play.

Well at least it would allow us to go and buy a quality CB.

Yep. Valencia have to sell to be in compliance with FFP. Just should have been done two weeks ago.
