This guy is new

This hair is new

We still have these guys

This cheeky bastard is still in charge, perhaps in his final year, ready to ride off into the glorious sunset with a couple trophies

These guys are healthy (for now)

This guy is gone, which is sad and not sad all at once

This Spanish duo is still the best fullback tandem in the Prem

And this guy is still the best keeper in the league

All we need now is this guy

Or this guy

Or, frick it, this guy

But, whatever may come, most importanty, we're not these guys

Excellent way to start the thread. I hate to kill the optimism, but did anyone see Alexis's ankle? It's huge. I'll look for a pic. Hopefully, Arsene can ease him back this year.

ETA: Maybe that was BS. I can't find the picture anymore. The video of how he hurt his ankle does make it look like it could create quite the swelling.

I seen it.

I don't know what the actual injury was, but I tore three ligaments in my ankle as a senior in high school, with a dozen or so micro fractures around the tears. The good news is that I was back playing in 10 weeks. The bad news is that I was at about 60% and after several re-injuries of the ankle over the next three years into college it ultimately ended my modest hoops career.

The point is, don't rush back. With Iwobi, Ramsey, Jack, Theo, Ox, Joel, and please oh God please a new signing, we should be okay for a couple weeks without him.

Oh that optimism we start every season with, only to be crushed somewhere between January and March

But hey, we aren't Spurs

Great start to the thread. Looking forward to seeing how the midfield shapes up. Maybe Xhaka and Cazorla deep with Ramsey at right wing?

Three downvotes in the OP already.

Spurs finished in third place.

Y'all are such an optimistic bunch

I really do hope Wenger doesn't troll y'all again because most of y'all are super loyal and deserve better. Also my friends IRL might spontaneously combust if Wenger doesn't spend big and Arsenal fades in the 2nd half of the season.

I'm not sure where the optimism comes from. Seems like every year is the same old shite. Not sure why this year would be any different.

I'm optimistic because we won't have to start Flamini at all this year. Should be worth 10 points alone.

I'm optimistic because it is more fun than being pessimistic
