Walcott with a brace off the bench for England today playing on the right. Came on for Ox who had a nice assist.
San Marino is terrible though so there's that.

No right winger I know is more of a goal threat than Walcott. It's his best position - no doubt. Makes unstoppable runs from there.
Interesting to see that from someone that is so involved with the club. You have think he is trying to make a point here.
I know I would personally love to see Theo get some more chances wide

Michael Cox on our solution at center forward: Alexis Sanchez, baby.

Carlos Tevez was considered a No. 10 in his younger days, as was Robin van Persie. Luis Suarez spent time on the flank at Ajax and Liverpool, while Sergio Aguero insisted he preferred playing just behind a strike partner. That didn't stop them from becoming prolific centre-forwards because that position is no longer based around getting on the end of crosses and is more about pace, clever movement and quick decision-making. All four were blessed with those qualities, and if Aguero -- last season's top goal-scorer -- is the template, it's difficult to think of many players more suited than Sanchez.

I really think that was the initial plan

don't care how shitty the first month has been, this thread deserves more than the second page. COYG

It is so early in the campaign that I have zero worries. Three points tomorrow and we are probably third in the table.

I'd like to see Giroud start tomorrow. A couple goals to get him going would be excellent, though I do think he's best suited as a sub.
Still, would like to see:
-----------------------Cech-----------------------
Bellerin--------Per--------Kosc--------Nacho
--------------Ramsey--------Coq---------------
Theo----------------Ozil-----------------alexis
---------------------Giroud-----------------------
Or
-----------------------Cech-----------------------
Bellerin--------Per--------Kosc--------Nacho
--------------Ramsey--------Coq---------------
Theo----------------Ozil-----------------Ox
---------------------Alexis---------------------
I think we actually have too much control of games, if that makes sense. Santi is like a deadly penetrator in basketball with no outside shot. If you let him have the ball and defend everyone else, he can't hurt you.
Plus Ramsey and Coq can and have worked.

I just think Santi is almost an automatic choice for Wenger at this point. I would like to see either of those line ups at some point. If I had to pick one for tomorrow it would certainly be the one with Giroud at #9.
This would scare teams in Europe, but no chance do we play that against our top rivals domestically.

This feels like the type of game that AW will definitely start Giroud. Will try to build up his confidence after getting boo'd off the field the other day.

I agree. It's also a game we could sacrifice Coquelin in order to get more creativity in the side, but I don't think that happens. Coquelin's been too good. We're creating chances, just gotta finish them.
I'm expecting the 11 Arsene's favored most lately, with Ox and Theo both on the bench. If we need goals, I expect one of the two will come on for Coquelin and the other could come on for Giroud if he's having a stinker or be left out entirely.
Would love to see a comfortable 2-0 lead by the half, though.

Can't wait to see Giroud subbed off for Theo in the 80th tomorrow.
Why does Wenger wait so late to make subs?

I don't know, but it's pretty maddening.
I'd like to see Theo get some run on the right. I went back and looked at the games from last year. He was really productive when he played on the right. I actually like him more as a starter than Ox, who seems more suited to a 60 minute sub role at the moment to me.

He is better defending set pieces than anyone not named Laurent. That is what we are going to get besides a counter tomorrow. Breathe deeply Gooners and Goonerette, we will be third at worst at the end of the weekend.

City were THIS close to dropping points. Bummer.
Liked what we saw today. We're basically playing a diamond with the ball, and two banks of four without it. Very interesting tactical approach, and it's working. We're creating tons of chance.
I like the idea of rotating Giroud/Walcott, with one starting and the other subbing. I like Ox as a utility guy who is an injury away from starting regularly.
If we can be a little more clinical, we can have a really good season. I don't think we are up to City's standard (depends on Aguero, too), but we have a great squad.

Santi with 7 key passes, Ozil with 8. Each with an assist.
So much creativity. I think I could play striker on this team and get a goal here and there.

We are also on some double digit winning streak in games that Theo starts in
Posted on 9/12/15 at 11:16 am to RTR America
I think there is some anomaly to that stat, as Wenger usually starts Theo against weaker sides. But I think Giroud is a better bench option.
