You are misinformed. The clause ONLY means that we have to let the player know of Arsenal's interest. Which is a bit of a worthless clause if you ask me.

I would love Suarez. Not sure how much I would be willing to pay for him though.
As for the Zelalem situation, do you guys have more fond memories of the time from when you were born til 9 years old, or from 9 til 15? Seems like the latter is a lot more formative, so I'm hoping that will mean that he sees himself as being at least somewhat American.

By the time he's ready to be capped, he'll have lived in Britain for at least three years (I don't see him being capped til 18 IF he breaks into the first team. Still a long way to go.) What he considers himself at that point is anyone's guess.
Who knows what he values the most, but the fact of the matter is that even he's not a citizen yet, and won't be able to play for us if he plays for German youth teams, who will absolutely call him up. At least that's my reading of the rule.
