Amazing second half, bittersweet cus with just Ramsey wed be still in this. Yes, I noticed a lot of poldoskis short comings this season but he's our best chance at scoring. His left foot is crazy good. Sometimes I wonder if given 20 more minutes in some of these games he couldn't have snuck us a goal. Carzola was awesome in the 2nd. Showed that magic. Finally he cut in and almost scored, he needs to do that more. Arteta looked good, I think it helps to have a more physical presence in a Ramsey or kallstrom. Giroud was sluggish at times but he worked hard. Brilliant goal.

Let's us breathe til sunday and we really showed our class today. Hoping palace pulls out a draw.

Saw a tweet after the game (maybe from gunnerblog or arseblog?) that said Podolski's 10 goals he has scored this season have come in just over 1,100 minutes played on the season. If you just consider that 90 minutes is a full game, that's 10 goals in 13 games played! Grea return I would say.

They talked about his goal rate for team Germany. It was ridiculous good. I recalled someone showing his stats on being pulled out if games and I believe he averaged more minutes per game for Germany than he dud at bayern, koln, and arsenal.

Was concerned about them yesterday, but TV5 and poldi performed well. Poldi's all around game still pisses me off, but he can finish and we need that. By far tv5's best match at LB. maybe it was due to the competition (they generally attacked down their left through jarvis) but still good to see.

Källström was very solid. Impressive passing range. With that start and his PK, he's been worth it

We really need a true winger that can dribble at defenders. Would make us a lot better.

I still don't get the prevailing opinion about Podolski's game.

He's so productive. Look at the ball he gave Giroud. Should have been a beautiful assist. Then you add in his two goals.

He constantly creates danger. Yes, he wants ball at feet too much. Yes, he doesn't always make runs. But when he does, he makes them count.

I love him. He's perfect when we need someone wide left to open things up, and he's great against sides who will concede possession and pack it in, because he can blast through it with his left, either on goal or sending a cross in.

I wish we could keep him as a late sub/starter against bottom half squads.

that's my opinion too, because of his flaws.

there's no question he's got the best end product on the team. against lesser teams when we have the ball for the vast majority of a match, he's more likely to give us some end product, which is pretty much his only contribution. (generally) doesn't press well, our worst defensive player (i could get behind ozil here, but we generally free him from defensive duty), tends to not put his head down and run, but rather waits to play a one-two before bursting forward (example yesterday was when santi stole the ball at midfield and played giroud through on goal for his dumb chip. at the beginning of the break poldi is lightly jogging...on a dangerous breakaway chance...which he ended up barely missing the rebound on...ugh), can't really take on defenders other than making space to get in a cross (well, no one on our team besides ox can), and isn't as good with intricate interchanges.

we need him to start at this point because our of lack of finishing options, but his lack of contribution over 2/3rds of the field really bothers me. i love him as a sub because his flaws are mostly hidden. i also love him because of his social media personality i don't, however, like watching him that as a starter, especially against good sides. if we want to compete with the best of the best in the world, we can't have him starting 20-25 games for us.

Poldi wants to play as the trailing striker in a 4-4-2, which would suit his style. As a winger he's great when he makes the occasional run to the byline but we need him to do that much more. If he played like Walcott use to, before he became obsessed with playing centrally, he would be fantastic.

It'd be nice to get 3 points from each of the next 3 matches while Everton loses to one of the Machesters and we could rest people the last week of the season.

Away at Southampton for Everton will be tough as well. This is 2 matches in a row now were they have looked poor. United could still sneak into 5th and Europa league. City will need to win for any chance of the title to remain alive.

With Santi on the rt it helped. You need another player that will run the channels, but if poldi gets opportunities he will score. His defense was shakyat least he was trying, but that one play he got in front of the defender and caused a foul was excellent. Let us regroup.

I completely agree on poldi, but you guys like to dog him, giroud and arteta when in reality that's all we've had. Its not their fault we didn't get help in January. So yes poldi needs to start because we have no one else rt now. If walcott wasn't injured is be down for letting him sub and start in the cup games against lessor opponents, we just don't have that luxury. Which brings me to my next point. Upgrade those positions, but keep those players. If we get a striker and sell giroud, that striker is left playing 40 games or more. So it doesn't help to upgrade then let players walk.
