Gervinho with a fricking nice finish. WTF?

Can't wait for the "He's like a new signing!" quotes from Arsene after AFCON.

Didn't he have a Maradona-run goal in the last ACON?

I liked the reddit comment...

You guys have it all wrong. He was trying to settle the ball first. That was his first touch.

I was drinking a thurstbuster when I read that. I then proceeded to clean coke off of my computer screen.

Caught the match on my DVR. Well played throughout outside of their goal (which came off a corner they probably shouldn't have had). The first half was frustrating because we could have scored so many more times, but wasted great chances.

Loved the training ground corner for Giroud's first. Struck it well, Jussi had no real chance at it.

Santi's goal...holy shite that backheel. Calm, classy, surprisingly strong, impudent. Sums him up well. Also, Giroud is world class at one thing: chipping the ball into the path of a runner from the top of the box.

Giroud's second was a nice flick too. Confident finish. Hopefully he gets going a bit.

The last goal is indicative of what we need to do against better squads (though I'm not sure we have the defensive personnel to play full on counterattacking football). With Poldi, Theo, Santi, and Wilshere we can get the ball forward in a hurry.

Thought that was Ramsey's best match of the season. Nothing too flashy, just "did a job in the midfield," as some shitty commentator might say. Moved it around well. Wasn't ever caught out of place.

Definitely Poldi's best performance for Arsenal.

This is the lineup I would have preferred against Chelsea.

That German bastard was greatness. It showed from the beginning when he hustled to knock that Gibbs pass for a throw in.

Agreed. Best match since he dominated the match against ManU in 2010.

Who was it that got hurt in the match today? I saw there were 12 minutes of stoppage time and saw someone getting carried off on a stretcher with a tarp over him. Is the guy ok? Looked like they were carrying someone off in a body bag.

"@GrantWahl: Maybe Gervinho should consider wearing an Ivory Coast shirt under his Arsenal jersey during Premier League games. Another nice goal."

Thought Ramsey was pretty good again as the deepest of our midfield 3. Diaby and Rosicky showed flashes, but were clearly rusty. Giroud played really well. The Ox continues to be amazingly frustrating. Santos sucks. Also, continues to be frustrating that the majority of the goals we concede are the result of a lack of concentration.

On a transfer sidenote: if the only business we do this transfer window, after Arsene talked about only buying quality, is picking up Diame then LOL
