anyone know why Taarabt isn't starting for morocco? after all the hype i would have thought he would be starting?

He's been horrible for QPR this year. Form matters.

I had Senegal to be in the final, or at least semis. I was floored.

What a terrible showing from Senegal, and those guys topped Cameroon's group in the qualifs .

Ivory Coast just went 3/3 and still hasn't conceded a goal.

I'm now pulling for Sudan, in hopes of a five page Grant Wahl and/or Grantland human interest piece on peace in the Darfur.

Apparently Sudan's win yesterday was their first win in the tournament in 42 years. I'm led to believe that's significant.

Pulling for Zambia. Really wanted them to qualify for the 94 WC after their team was killed in the plane crash.

Semifinals today.

Zambia upended Ghana 1-0. Asamoah Gyan missed a penalty inside the first 10 minutes, and Zambia scored with 12 minutes left to advance to the final.

The second match is Mali-Ivory Coast a bit later today.
