Alright lads, whether they be zealous adulations or dimly premonitions, it's time to get your predictions on record.

Given the lack of leadership on the sidelines, (and on the field), lack of WC experience, lack of chemistry with the so called 'system', and ongoing injuries, I'm seeing this as another rendition of the '98 WC. I don't see morale being particularly high, but somewhat directionless. I don't want to, but there are enough red flags that suggest otherwise.

Of course there's always hope, and I pray that I'm proved wrong, so let's not conflate one's reading of the tea leaves with his/her desired result.

USA 0 - Wales 1
USA 1 - England 3
Iran 0 - 0

You do realize that you've talked yourself into a corner regarding Gregg, right?

If they get out of the group, you have to give him credit based on how low your expectations are.

3rd or 4th in table. This was the wrong coach at a crossroads. So much young talent to work with but no system or one that highlights the talent pool. He was happy just to make the WC and cashed his checks.

Predicting scores are dumb, but I've said from the beginning that we get out of the group, either 1-1-1 or 1-0-2.

You complain about our lack of experience, yet you think we lose to Wales?

My prediction is Jesse Marsh gets sacked and we hire him as USMNT coach the 2nd week of December

Would we want a dude though that couldn't last a season in the bundesliga or EPL?

Not saying we should keep Gregg, but jury is still out on Marsch.

If we don’t advance out of the group, then at least GB is gone. Our golden generation has to play to win the whole thing in 2026.

We've never lost to England in the world cup and my only hope is that steak remains in place:

Beat Wales
Draw England
Draw Iran

Advance as #2 in the group. Lose to Netherlands.

Gregg isn’t that great of a tactician, but I think a lot of people are being hella reactionary over a bad window where we were missing a lot of key players.

I mean the window before that, we boatraced a Morocco squad that is about on par with Japan and held our own against Uruguay.

Way too much doom and gloom for the sake of being emotional and it’s either beta as frick or you just want confirmation bias to say “SEE!!! I told you they suck”

We have the second best team in the group, and there is a better chance that we get out of the group than not getting a single win. Spare me the catastrophe syndrome, I’m excited as hell to watch us in the World Cup for the first time in 3,000 days,

Ah yes, another coach whose game plan revolves around a rather rigid system. Y’all are gonna love it, trust me.

Do you think Berhalter is a better coach than Marsh?

I think they are a lot closer than you think. Neither really inspires confidence.

Who were they missing? Hakimi played. He’s by far their best player.

And if we’re handicapping based on player availability, shouldn’t the USMNT be awarded the same for last window.

Fair point, but again, Morocco…interested in beating the Uruguays. Got to keep the foot on the gas when it comes to standards. Otherwise, we’re just settling with the static celebrating over the Moroccos of the world (who just flew in for the match and were firing their coach).

It's concerning because that's the only game we scored a goal in vs a world cup team. In the other games we barely got any, or no, shots on goal. The last window showed we have no midfield transition without Musah as well. So if he gets hurt or subbed how will we adjust? Our hope is that Greggggg adjusts the system to the players we have, not the other way around.

That said we should get out of the group.
0-0 Draw vs Wales
Pulisic scores a late penalty to draw England 1-1 (and piss off Chelsea supporters)
2-0 Win vs Iran with Weah scoring the first and Weston doing his usual set piece magic heading one in to ice it.
