I keep waiting for Terry to break down but that old jalopy keeps on trucking.

Yea I don't know how y'all's point system works. Was assuming goals trumped all but didn't really look into it

A clean sheet for a defender is 4.

Combine that with playing most of the game (>60 minutes) is 2 pts for every player.

A defender on a good team gets 6 pts frequently.

Plus if that defender scored like terry or ivanovic do every once in awhile....

They will both play a lot unless they get hurt.

Ever played the official fantasy game on the EPL website? It's the same scoring as that.

Kind of like any other fantasy sport, accumulate points for various categories. Here's a quick copy/paste from the site:

Action

Points

For playing up to 60 minutes 1
For playing 60 minutes or more 2
For each goal scored by a goalkeeper or defender 6
For each goal scored by a midfielder 5
For each goal scored by a forward 4
For each goal assist 3
For a clean sheet by a goalkeeper or defender 4
For a clean sheet by a midfielder 1
For every 3 shot saves by a goalkeeper 1
For each penalty save 5
For each penalty miss -2
Bonus points for the best players in a match 1-3
For every 2 goals conceded by a goalkeeper or defender -1
For each yellow card -1
For each red card -3
For each own goal -2

Bonus Points

A new Bonus Points System (BPS) has been created which utilises a range of statistics to create a BPS score for every player. The three best performing players in each match will be awarded bonus points. 3 points will be awarded to the highest scoring player, 2 to the second best and 1 to the third.

He scored a screamer from outside the box to draw us in the derby in like the 94th minute last year.

I hope he's terrible and never scores a goal again.

I'm just hoping he can get a few clean sheets. That's where defenders make their money in this [fantasy] league.

Since I've already picked him, I'm surprised Kieran Trippier fell that far to me. Most draft lists I've seen had him as one of the top three defenders in the pool this year. Played a ton of minutes and led the league in crosses, if I remember correctly.

Sure, he's at a new team, but Kyle Walker couldn't stay healthy if he tried.

That is higher than I would have expected. He was not on my own radar that high.

I should find one of those draft boards because I am drafting blind.

I'm pretty high on him but I agree, a bit higher than I expected. Although not by much. He has the potential to be an absolute knockout pick. My hesitation was the new team thing which can make or break some players floating along that edge of good/great.

I won't be making my pick till I get off at 4... Sorry guys.

I went to a Phish show last night and I'm struggling to make it through work.

New team with a pretty hefty # of defenders....so I'm not sure the kind of minutes he's going to be getting.
