Negredo to Valencia is official. 1 year loan with obligation to buy next year. 28m euros + 2m in add ons.
City will end up making roughly 5m pounds in profit on the transfers.

I'm bummed that Negredo is gone. He was great at times last year.

He was great for City, but that's a pretty decent fee (24m pounds) for a player they paid roughly 18m pounds for last season and will turn 30 this year. Oh and one that's currently injured.

I really like Negredo but that's more than a decent a fee, it's a huge price tag considering his age and resale value.
As for Man City, I'd say that merely by purchasing such a solid defensive midfielder as Fernando they probably had as good a market as anyone in the EPL aside from Chelsea.

Agreed, Fernando allows Toure to be at his best. Marauding the frick out of teams with no answer to him.

Yeah he's apparently passed the medical.

Falcao agents insist he's been bought €65m for 4 years. Loan deal first for FFP reasons?

Most likely Falcao scenario: loan deal for a year with option to buy him for €65m and wages of €9m a year net

Why was Negredo a loan first, then a mandatory buy? I can't imagine Valencia has FFP issues, and that wouldn't impact City since he's going the other way.
Is it just a way for Valencia to buy time to get money to make the actual payment?

I just read on Wikipedia, that a Singaporan businessman bought a 70% stake in Valencia. I imagine that should settle some, if not most, of the club's dire debt situation. It's a minor miracle that Valencia never folded, being that it was basically owned by its creditors and the city of Valencia. Los Che's new stadium ceased construction midway through the building process.
