Reading between the lines on Poyet's comments about Borini and Rodger's comments about signing strikers... I think it's just down to.. he will be allowed to go, if we sign another striker...
edit: So, its probably down to whether we sign Bony or not...

Nicklas Bendtner set to sign for Wolfsburg tomorrow.
The Wolfsburg coach on signing Bendtner...

Sky sources understand that Stoke are close to securing the services of Chelsea winger Victor Moses on a season-long loan. The Nigeria international made a similar move last summer as he spent the 2013/14 campaign with Liverpool.

Ah yes, the sleeper agent Mr. Moses.
Mou must think Stoke are in for big things this season.

atletico in for Marco Reus

Yeah... good luck with that.

Schurrle is more doable

I'll make a very sizable wager on that... Reus isn't going to Atletico

Don't get me wrong, would be hella fun to watch (as I watched a lot of atletico matches last season) but it won't happen.
Could probably get Sergio Canales from Sociedad for A LOT less and he has a similar skill set. (was saddled with injuries early on) Think he could play behind Mandzukic very well.

Idk... I can see the club thinking they are on the cusp of something great. That would be a scary good attack

Completely agree. Maybe even wait till January. Bony would be a HELL of a 2nd choice. I wonder if he'd be cool with that. Seems like a guy who should be a 1 in most places after last year.

The Reus rumor -- at least in terms of it being close to a done deal -- would be surprising but maybe he's not happy with his contract situation at Dortmund. . . could also be his agent's listening to Atleti with an eye to negotiating a bigger renewal etc.
Seems you guys are seriously looking to add one more creative option in the attack?
The attempt to get Adem Ljajic from Roma seemed pretty serious. I guess that could still happen but seems doubtful this late as it likely hinged on Roma also getting some target like Jovetic or Konoplyanko.
Atleti's moves this summer are already good. Griezmann and Madzukic et al. . .
I like Turan but seems there is certainly need for some more high quality depth. . . will be a lot to ask to keep up the crazy minutes some stars logged last year.

Hey, wm, tell me what you know about Stefan Savic

Stefan Savic
Very good young CB.
Fiorentina "stole" him in that deal with Man City where they got Savic plus enough cash for 3 more contributing players all for Nastasic.
He's been excellent for them playing all over but usually on the left side of their back 3 in Montella's 3-5-2.
Still young, big, good skills on the ball that make him a good fit for a back three but not so great that he's a typical Guardiola DM masquerading as a CB.
He has the meanest Slavic nose you could ever wish for and recently complimented it with a fantastically pervy John Waters style stache.

Sounds fantastic. Bayern is rumored to be looking for a center back after Javi tore his ACL and Savic's name keeps coming up.
Posted on 8/15/14 at 8:43 pm to hendersonshands
He's mainly just had the 1 1/2 seasons as a really full time starter for a bigger club after not playing much in his year at Man City. He's been getting better and better while in Firenze though.
He's been a pretty highly rated younger guy for a while, which is why Mancini had payed a lot for him at Man City when he was 19.
