Anyway, it's clear he would rather go to Arsenal, but I don't think we will shell out more than Napoli.
There's a possibility you don't have to. If Wenger improves his offer enough, and Higuain refuses to agree to personal terms with Napoli, Madrid will be forced to either keep him or deal him to Arsenal.

if our last offer was £25-27m or whatever has been reported, we can afford to shell out £3-5m more to get him. overpaying for a bird in the hand is better than missing out out on the uglier, but more talented bird in the bush.

yeah, weird situation. i think he prefers Arsenal, but i think his desire to be the guy for a CL club is the key thing. i think if Arsenal didn't pay up, he'd be fine with going to Napoli. it sure seems like Madrid wants him to stay but he has his mind made up.

Anyway, both have worn out their stay, IMO.

telegraph reporter says we aren't in for Bernard, still very much in for Suarez.
goddammit I hate when silly season plays with me non-stop. I'd just like us to get someone.

updated the first page. Some of these teams have huge squads and loan people out or cut them at break neck speeds, so if you were a free transfer or some random arse name I didn't recognize then I didn't waste any more time putting them on here. I got it from TransferMarkt, so I just took what they gave as official. If some other deals are done that aren't listed just let me know and I'll put them on here.

So what would the starting 11 look like with him? Would he be playing for Giroud or would he be on the wing?

Luis Suárez se acerca al Arsenal.

yeah i'm unfamiliar with that guy but he is a Uruguayan journalist...has me a wee bit hopeful.
tweezy, IF it happens, i'd imagine we'd switch it up and also would depend on the rest of our summer. he and giroud could certain play together.

Good Lord, if Carlito brings Ibra...........

I was just wondering, I don't know that much about your squad. Him, Giroud and Theo up top would be pretty nifty.

I don´t know how solid they are in the back, but that´d be a title contender, any worse than third is an absolute disaster type squad.

4-3-3 would be better IMO.
Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshere, Santi, Theo, Suarez
Or
Arteta, Wilshere, Santi, Poldi, Theo, Suarez

No doubt, especially with Poldi subbing on if needed. They seem to be alright in the back, definitely not as strong as in the front. Koscielny apparently is pretty good, don't know much about him. Mertesacker is a bit oafish, but he isn't awful.

Yeah I always forget they started using Santi on the left in the second part of the season.

I mean, he's really not a bad player, logged almost 100 caps for the German team. He had like a meniscus and some ankle ligaments shite the bed on him in 08/09. I'm sure that didn't help him any.

i think if it happened, there's a few different ways it could work. When Santi played number 10 with Giroud we practically functioned as a 4-4-1-1 without the ball. his defensive duties were minimal and he roamed wherever the frick he wanted. Suarez could certainly do that. Obviously he could play no 9 or out wide too. thing is, santi and rosicky are our top 2 no 10s at the moment. jack just hasn't shown the ability to be successful there as of yet, though he may get more chances. i would imagine you won't see much of a midfield three of arteta-ramsey-jack.
kos and per had a pretty bad arse partnership the second half of the year. only team that gave up less goals than us last season was Man City. i'd imagine if you looked at pairings based on goals/minute played together (which obviously isn't everything) they'd have rated the best in the EPL last year. problem could be injuries (ALREADY). TV5 and Monreal both have back issues that will keep them out until October in all likelihood. We will need to buy a CB for sure.
That said, Suarez would certainly make us title contenders. And we have a couple more signings to make.
