Let the spending spree begin.

Personally, I don't see this as a great signing, and I'm not convinced Higuain is better suited to the EPL than Giroud. He will score goals though. Once again, Arsenal is in the 2nd tier market. Even if they are bumping up their spending levels a bit, there are several top strikers on the move this summer and Arsenal will not sign one of them.

in the sense that we did not sign Falcao or Cavani, and who knows what will happen with Rooney, I agree.

my happiness with this move will be largely dependent on the other attacker we sign this summer.

I'm happy that Arsene stopped being a douche and pretending that Arsenal is a small club. I don't know if Higuain is worth the money, but go for a damn title.

I'm happy that we are spending money and Higuian is a productive player. How we deploy him will determine how well he does.

It depends more upon those around him.

Well we will always create chances as long as Wenger is the manager. The biggest problem we have is when teams put 10 behind the ball, our chance creation plummets, and I'm not sure Higuain will help with that. I'm optimistic though. If anyone can get more out of Higuain, it's Wenger.

Yea hopefully we sign another 2-3 class players. We do that and we should be able to challenge for a trophy this year.

THE ISCO SUMMIT

quote:

Real Madrid and Málaga are scheduled to have another meeting this Friday, one month after contact was first made at the Bernabéu, to clarify each clubs position regarding Isco's transfer. This time round some kind of agreement could be reached. The player is closer than ever to Real. In the time that has elapsed since the first meeting took place, Isco seems to have opted to make Real Madrid his next stop. The player has an offer on the table from Manchester City, but he'd prefer to go to Real. His release clause currently stands at €35 million, but this amount is open to negotiation. The deal might even include players such as Callejón, Jesé or even Morata.

Beowulf is apparently negotiating with Frankfurt. Frankfurt's chairman thinks he'll want too much in wages

Sounds like almost a certainty.

Beowulf should have gone to Hamburg last season. Instead he wasted away at Juventus. He has some talent, but he needs to be realistic.

Bayer Leverkusen have signed Giulio Donati to replace Dani Carvajal. Seems like a good signing.

According to la SER (syndicated Spanish radio), Isco has signed with Real Madrid. The transfer fee was €30M.

Sunderland pursuing Altidore also mentioned in Daily Telegraph, so legit.

Altidore to Sunderland does not excite me.

Other notables:

Cavani to Real for €55M
Rooney prefers Chelsea to Arsenal
Tevez to Juventus
Isco to Man City for €25M
Suarez to Napoli

Altidore to anywhere that isn't Italy would be good by my book.

OK, a bit of an exaggeration, but Italy would be the death of his form.
