That would be the trip of a lifetime, we should do an Oktoberfest/match day trip to the fatherland in the coming seasons. I have 2 more years of school left and I honestly don't think it could go any slower.

Robbery better bring it this year bc we have versatile young guys champing at the bit to see first team PT. gonna be a fun year, let's hope jupp doesn't get too stubborn

Jupp is going to be stubborn but I think Sammer is going to have a talk with him. Sammer already said that they want to create competition in the squad, in regard to the striker position at least. Gomez won't get near as many goals this year because I think Pizza and Mandzukic are going to steal a lot of starts.

I think Badstuber is going to impress this year. He really grew up over the last season. He was very visibly distraught when he gt the yellow v Madrid to knock him out of ucl final, still pulled it together for the rest of the game though. I'm pretty sure he had the most touches of any defender in the BL last season as well. We'll be able to put a lot of different looks on the field this year. I think our subs will actually have an effect on the game. Last season I just assumed ignore the bench completely haha

Kroos- I like him at the dlp,but I like Gustavo playing destroyer a lot a lot. I think a formation change is no doubt on the way. Perhaps a 4-3-3? Perhaps Gustavo playing the sweeper role and basti/Kroos playing the jermaine jones mike Bradley role. Then have robbery up top on the wings and Gomez/mandzukic/pizza up top. Shift in shaq at all 3 positions up top?? What do you think?

I'd like to see a 4-3-3 tried out. It's pretty much reliant on Schweini being fit though. If you have Tymo and Gustavo on the field at the same time, I don't think it'll look very pretty.

I don't think Ribery likes playing as a winger and would much prefer the chance to come inside more though. I think that formation would fit Muller better.

yeah schweini has to be fit, tymo is an old arse man. him and gustavo would probably hold the shutout, but there is no way theyd generate anything going forward.

rb:lahm, rafinha, weiser
cb: badstuber, dante, boateng, DVB
lb: alaba, rafinha, weiser, boa

that's solid enough in the back, it'd be nice to have a world class CB but it's not the end of the world.

Had not heard that about Ribbentrop- thanks.

So shaw may be a replacement for mueller then. Is mueller the super sub that also starts in an attacking place as rest is needed?

I do agree about kroos being better a bit further back though I think he is not there yet defensively but there are only so many spots available and lots of talented guys. Schweinies spot is locked up, barring injury.

Competition for starts will be fierce.

Yes I think we will see müller slotting in at any of the wings cam or a striker. He's got the skills to be serviceable at any of those positions. To be honest I'm not sure if he's necessarily "better" at any one position.

I think he's better when he can stay out wide. He's got good pace, discipline, and a great work rate.

we also cant forget how much the lanky bavarian likes to have the last word he's always got something to add

i like him out wide as well, he's got really great positioning on the pitch, as evidenced by scoring 5 goals in the WC. he probably hasnt even scored 5 goals since the WC

just to update the friendly scores. full time in trentino and we finally got the goal support i was hoping for against 2nd and 3rd rate squads

FT: Trentino XI [0 - 11] FC Bayern München - Friesenbichler (3), Robben (3), Markoutz (2), Mandzukic, Pizarro y Alaba

Reports say robben was the best player on the pitch. much expected, but nice to see

The Trentino XI is made up of amateurs I think so anything less than 10 would have been disappointing.

friendly vs napoli on friday! should be pretty sweet. a little bit better than regional pick up teams.

i watched the 28 minute highlight from the last friendly, looked like decently good stuff. dante made a nice play on the ball to avoid a goal.

Starke was awful, shaq is a beast, he will start by week 10. I love this kid. Alaba is the future

Alaba out 6/8 weeks w a stress fracture. Really bummed but pumped weiser has opportunity to get minutes

Edit: rafinha is also injured for 4/5 weeks.
