I love how allowing people to keep their own money is seen as "giving them money"

Heard a commentator or NPR last week talking about healthcare and he said it isn't actually freedom to allow young people to opt out of insurance because it takes away the freedom of old people to enjoy cheap insurance. It's amazing how devoid of logical thinking so many people are.

Posts a meme from a politacal satire site.

How is that for a dose of left-wing stupidity?

Pretty fricking stupid. People have an incentive to do whatever gets them money. If working hard gets you money, you'll have an incentive to do that. If going to the government for a handout gets you money, you'll do that.

But nice strawman George

Well, it's certainly not "freedom" but it is a basic component of insurance.

It's a fake meme. Says so right in the bottom lefthand corner.

I wish we had a comedian in the White House, instead of a narcissistic arse-clown.

I would like to see a video or hear a recording of Carlin saying that quote. Fake quotes are attriburted to people all of the time, especially on the internet.

The meme comes from a site that is a self professed parody site, so take it for what it's worth.

If anything, this story is an example of why people should be allowed to keep the money they earn to do with it what they choose.
link to the post and what the "liberal" said

"Distributing wealth doesn't have to mean forcing rich people to give away all their money and have everyone work for equal pay. It can mean taking your surplus of money and doing valuable things to help people like this gentleman, or tipping a server a hundred dollars for exceptional service because you can afford to help a good person."
