Your daily dose of liberal logic

The top post on the first page of reddit today is this story about a millionaire who gave everyone in a Florida neighborhood free daycare and free college scholarships, the crime rate was cut in half and the graduation rate jumped from 25% to 100%. He did this after being fired from Walt Disney World because his bosses didn't think he could be a 'company man'
Which is an awesome story. But if you read the comments in the thread, it's being touted as an example of why more government handouts will fix all of our problems. For example:
If anything, this story is an example of why people should be allowed to keep the money they earn to do with it what they choose. As opposed to the government stealing everyone's money and squandering it away with their incompetency.

It's a testament to what can happen when we rely on individuals and communities to respond to the needs of the indigent, rather than large bureaucratic government entities.
Individuals and smaller groups (churches, non-profits, etc.) can assess who is in need and who isn't, and don't have the capability to recklessly spend with the hope that some of the money has an impact.
Most conservatives I know are very "liberal" when it comes to the desire to help those who need help, be it education, healthcare, etc.

Looks like society found a way to better itself without the government digging down into the tax payers pocket...
Might be the most conservative ideal there is. Congrats on the stupid liberals.

I read the comments. Most people are making The Office jokes.

Best thing I've ever seen you post. +1

So an example of an individual being generous with their money is making a positive impact on society? Yeah, we already knew that. Conservatives are against the government taking on that role because they waste money and aren't in touch with who really needs help. If an individual wants to throw away their own money then more power to them. When the government throws away money, it's not their money to begin with but was taken from taxpayers.

To be fair, its ran by corporations and corporate interest. Half of the reeing and stuff you see blasted all over is not just random people but companies like Shareblue pushing an agenda and the mods are fully complicit. It's a giant cesspool of propaganda.

Yeah, here's the problem....
If a government program tried to pull off what this guy did with private resources, about $5 million of the $9 million he's used would've been wasted on bullshite bureaucratic nonsense and administrative costs.

So much truth right there.

Liberal logic:
Force people to pay extra taxes, send that money to state and federal agencies that will take 50% of that money to pay for itself, mismanage the the remaining 50%, and eventually have 15-20% of those funds trickle into these facilities.
That's far better than having someone donate directly to the institution.

Here's a dose of right-winger "logic":

I love how allowing people to keep their own money is seen as "giving them money"

This is also a tacit admission of the problems created by people having children when they are not responsible to care for them. Always comes down to making good decisions.

if only conservatives spent as much time trying to figure out how to make a better healthcare bill instead of snowflaking out about liberals

As much as I loved George Carlin, he was a fricking comedian. If that's the best someone can do regarding a political statement, yikes.
