On top of that, many viewed the mere presence of the white people as a threat, even the ones who were settled peacefully. There were many raids on white settlements by the Indians where many people were massacred. Perhaps we need more of those types of monuments to remember our ancestors who lost their lives to red aggression.

To be fair, white people ended up being the death of 93% of Native Americans - and barely any of that was from a shot being fired.

It's not exactly the Europeans' fault though - the diseases they carried were unknown to them. They had no idea they would devastate the native population just by showing up.

The Injuns killed hundreds of millions of white people. It wasn't exactly their fault though. They didn't know that tobacco caused cancer.

They got a little revenge when they gave them syphilis and took it back to Europe, Spain etc.

At this rate the left will keep losing elections. Do they really think this is statute crap does them any favors?

They do because "divide and conquer" has been their bread and butter for years. They get votes by dividing the country and siding with the "oppressed". They then get the votes of the self-conscious "oppressors" who don't want to be viewed as oppressors (white guilt). They've gone back to the well too many times at this point, though. They have no other play.

They need to look up the definitions of "depiction," which this is, and "glorification," which it isn't.

That might help them bank some of their other outrages, too.

PS: If all the settlers had "aimed" their guns the way this one is, there would have been no settlement of this country. They'd have all been annihilated. It's not even pointed at the Indian, and both figures are looking at something else (probably the wild turkeys gathered to complain about the carving).

Yeah, people are just keen on letting take their land. If I came to your house uninvited and set up shop how would that go?

I thought American Indians thought that nobody owns the land.

Besides, the various American Indian tribes were constantly warring with each other for each other's land way before the white man came to North America so don't act like the white man was the first one to do it.

That's hilarious but at the same time I can understand removing this one. That's like a statue of a klansman hanging a black man

Are they going to pretend that their Puritan ancestors didn't fight a savage war of annihilation against the Indians?

Because everybody knows that we can only get our history from statues.

Sure, but I don't think that matters to this crowd.
