Would you vote for a Paul/Booker ticket running as independants?

At the founding, the runner up in electoral votes became the Vice President. While I don't think that would be a very good idea today (and is no longer Constitutionally valid with Ammendment 12), I could vote for a split party ticket like Rand Paul and Cory Booker. While I am certainly no fan of Booker's, watching them work together gives me the impression that they could get a ton of common sense re-constitution of our system done working together because it would give both sides in Congress some air cover to vote issues instead of party.

Thoughts?

Booker / Paul would have a better chance.

No unity tickets.

If Paul and Booker want to work together, they can both stay in the Senate or one of them can become President and the other one be a Senate leader.

Politics in this country are divided enough that I wouldn't put it past a nutbar on one side to recreate Charles Guiteau's shooting of President Garfield.

Guiteau said upon his arrest "I am a Stalwart of the Stalwarts. .. Arthur is president now!", referring to Chester A. Arthur, Garfield's VP, who was on the ticket as a concession to Sen. Roscoe Conkling's Stalwart faction.

Arthur, to his credit, ended up being a very solid president and not a tool for the Stalwarts as expected.

I'd sooner vote for Booker the building superintendent from Good Times than Cory Booker. Why the Ds keep trotting out these spectacularly unqualified people as potential candidates is beyond me. How about someone who has actually been successful in an executive leadership position? This guy was mayor of what is basically a third world city. What's his record of accomplishment again?

Booker is terrible...he's all show and no substance.

ETA: Though I appreciate his recent work with Paul.

I definitely would. I probably wouldn't vote for booker / paul, but I am definitely becoming a big fan of rand.

Running as IND is a good way to lose. I don't know enough about Corey Booker but I like Rand Paul well enough to vote for him.

Unfortunately, Rick Perry is going to be the nominee

I think the meltdown on the poliboard would be even more spectacular than when Romney lost after Francis Marion's inside info/predictions AND the rant on 1-9-12 combined.

I think he's a doofus, but he may very well get it. He checks a lot of boxes for the GOP. He's good looking, talks tough. He'll recover from "oops" - the question is will he have another "oops" moment.

Honestly, I 'm afraid Rand is going to gaffe b/c he's an off-the-cuff kind of guy. This is what people like about him but it can get you into trouble in a 2 year long presidential campaign. It takes discipline.

The man compared homosexuality to alcoholism. Even if he misspoke "which I believe he admitted to," the fact that he was dumb enough to say that really irks me.

Fact of the matter is he should have just said all Americans are free to under the constitution and the federal govt has no right telling people they can or cannot get married. Rick Perry has done some "alright" things but he really puts his foot in his mouth.

anyone that thinks perry is not a doofus is the doofus.

I can see him getting the nomination, as I don't see anyone else out there that has a clear path.

But probably the only way to get me to vote HRC is for her to run against Perry (or bachmann).

It's going to be interesting to see what comes out of the current GOP schism. Tea Party loves Ted Cruz, but the establishment hates his guts. You've got Jeb Bush, Chris Christie or Perry who are establishment guys but loathed by Tea Party..... I don't know, maybe Rand can do it - it's just a long, long road.

Hell, Hillary couldn't do it in 08- she led for 4/5 of that race then Obama came storming on at the end. Obama never could have won had he led all that time.

I know. I love watching shite like this unfold. Its so much fun.

The only two stories where you don't know the end to are politics and sports. Sports has gotten to be a bit of bore for me, since I just can't handle the commercials.

Anyway, I don't see ted cruz getting the nomination due to $$. The mainstream is where the $$ is, and they will not funnel it to a fricktard like cruz.

Christie is too liberal, and I think the bush name is still tarnished but who knows? He might be tallest midget of the group. Paul Ryan might be able to satisfy both groups, but he doesn't seem presidential to me.

Yeah and this gives me hope that there is someone in the wings that no one is even considering, that will at least not be a retard.

Somehow I don't think he would be elected. Or at least I hope not!
