However when corporations us H1B visas to increase profits by replacing Americans with cheap H1B visa workers that's a clear abuse of the H1B visa program.

Exactly. The program was meant to help fill vacancies where companies had trouble finding applicants. Instead it is being used to supplant the US workforce in lieu of cheaper foreign workers.
Little Marco is one of the biggest supporters of the program.

They'd make a huge improvement in this area by just having a moratorium on issuing them for a while.

True. Then again, having worked with offshore companies, good luck.

What a damn nightmare.

Most of the positions held by H1Bs cannot be easily offshored. Its one thing to outsource to a state side staffing firm - another to move operations all together.

There's not enough Americans to fill all of the jobs that require PhDs. All of the friends I have on H1B that work in industry get paid very well and no less than their american counterparts. All want to get greencards, they just take forever.

We'll have to wait to see what specifically the EO says but I hope the EO simply states that H1B visas cannot be used to replace existing employees by forcing them to resign or be fired, less the employer will incur specific penalties.

I hope my Indian Baw doesn't lose his job, and we don't have silicon valley moved from the USA

These past few weeks is a fine example of what you get when you have someone elected who's not a part of the main stream establishment, and means what he says and does it.

Trump is killing it.

Vastly cheaper. It's destroyed a lot of skill development in America lately.

What was a loophole is now a gaping flood gate. There's been massive abuse the past 10 years.

Amazon and Microsoft already place some of their workers that did not get selected in the H-1B lottery in their Vancouver offices.

If they want cheaper labor, they could always set up shops in flyover states. Some tech companies like IBM and Facebook have actually have been doing exactly that.

Good.

They've abused the program to get cheaper labor out of it and supplant american workers out of their livelihood.

Your Indian baw should be glad he was allowed here as a guest and silicon Valley is more than welcome to move away, I dare them to move.

My company hires a LOT of people on H1-B visas. They receive the same salary as Americans in the same roles. They are all highly qualified, and if they beat out an American for the position then it was based on their qualifications. These people are hardworking and respectable -- there is literally no reason to be targeting them.
