If you think the SJWs on social media have gone nuts, just wait until what looks like the H1B-related order later today.

"His administration has drafted an executive order aimed at overhauling the work-visa programs technology companies depend on to hire tens of thousands of employees each year."

CEOs will go nuts.

Targeting h1b visas is bad.
These are the kinds of immigrants you want.
I was one and am now an American citizen and I am a fricking awesome citizen.

H-1B Visa abuse is rampant. Give employers fair warning, then phase in changes. Give them time to react....but keep in mind that corporate greed is driving a lot of this.

They already are. Got the email from the Executive Team of my company today.

We are a global company. All projects to the marked companies are currently being halted until the stay is addressed or the 90 days runs out.

And the world situation today is exactly the same as it was when you came to the U.S., right?

Why go after people that are already legally here and actually contribute to this country?

They are being abused.

IMO there is no problem with issuing H1B visas to make up for the labor shortages. However when corporations us H1B visas to increase profits by replacing Americans with cheap H1B visa workers that's a clear abuse of the H1B visa program.

Let's not tie these Visas to one "sponsor". It's low-wage "slave" labor. Let them in to compete on the free market for jobs.

Talented immigrants are kind of abused by the H1-B system in that they have little bargaining power. This artificially drives down wages.

Sounds like this is a good time to be in the market for a US tech job.

Exactly. Would be pretty stupid to target the people getting H1B. Target the companies abusing the program.
