I don't think so. I'm none of that, but I can empathize with them. The country's on a very bad trajectory IMHO.

The revolt will be by people screwed over by a system that allows the Top 1% all the political power and a tremendous disproportion of the wealth. Americans cannot get health care while money is stashed in the Caymans. The people will say enough of this elitism. Down with the monarchy and nobility. To the barricades!!

Armed revolt? No

Massive civil unrest is possibility. How the gov reacts to that is what will determine whether the citizens take up arms

You sound more like the occupy crowd.
I see the folks most pissed off right now as people who are blaming minorities from taking so much and giving so little and the government allowing it.

What would be real interesting, is that if we ever did fall on hard times, it would be the perpetually unemployed(bottom 5%) who suddenly didn't have a gov. tit to suck. This group would quickly become homeless and hungry and I think would really cause civil unrest and want to fight.

Frankly speaking, I don't see enough interested people. Most people just go about their day with work and family only to say "crap, we got taxed more today" or "crap, milk has gotten so expensive".......yet they just deal with it.

Too many people who live for just today in our country instead of considering the future.

Any armed citizen revolt that were to come to fruition on a nation-wide scale would ultimately lead to balkanization and foreign meddling from abroad. Globalization has successfully contained the US populace and rendered it effete.

We dont have enough interested people because we really do live a great life and don't even realize it.
Our poor are generally fat and don't have to work that hard.
Even our lower incomes group think a smart phone, full cable/satelite tv package, alcohol/smokes, are a god given right and generally get what they want.

Our middle class to lower middle class are living in nice homes, drive new cars, live in bigger houses than needed, go out to eat several times a week, and take vacations every year.

Until people get squeezed out of their comfort zones, nothing will really happen, and I can't see this changing anytime soon.

In the long term I believe that the common working man may have to rise up against the elite 1% who gather more and more of the wealth of the nation. But in the shorter term it is possible the 1% brainwashed hard right wing militia types who side with (against their very own interests) the elitist system and against the government in some type of small conflict that will easily be put down.

Exactly. The bulk of us professionals live in semi nice homes and have nice cars and a decent retirement. When the politicians become the only ones with food and the rest of us are starving, then and only then will something be done. There just aren't enough interested parties for a true revolution.

You're right. As long as the dam five miles up river just has a slow leak, not my concern. When water is lapping at my front door then I'm gonna be pissed. Too late to do anything but I'll be pissed just the same.

We're all guilty of this.

I really don't know.

But I do know if it DID happen, the MSM will classify the rebels as extremes right wing anti govt conservatives.

Citizen Revolt

Why not. We are still very young as a nation and going thru growing pains. Look at all these other countries that have been around for hundreds and thousands of years. There has been internal strife practically between every nation ever created. Civilian uprisings are part of a country's maturation process. We still have a lot of maturing to do.

We might be the United States of America but we are the divided citizens of a nation. Something about for every action there is a reaction. As long as you have two bulls butting heads there will always be a cloud of dust. At this point and time this is the biggest sandstorm I've seen so far other than the war between the states.

Won't happen until the bottom falls out of the Dollar. When that happens we will see a lot of civil unrest. As far as it being violent,if the government were to open fire on civilian Americans ,hell would break loose in America. As for as when? That's hard to say,but if we don't get off the path were on its gonna happen.

When the welfare checks end, then there will be a revolt. Not until then.
