Obviously most of us know, but if you go look it up…

You might click on the history channel link and read the following:

“The Revolutionary War was an insurrection by American Patriots in the 13 colonies to British rule, resulting in American independence.”

Interesting…. LINK

After reading the content in that link, can someone tell me what is different about what we are experiencing now?

In terms of the level of tyranny, would you say we are better off or worse off than before the American Revolution started?

As far as government encroachment of individual liberty, the current State is infinitely more tyrannical than the one we threw off in 1776.

Now, half the country thinks we should rejoin the political principles of the government we threw off because we didn’t like the direction it was heading.

Better in some ways. Worse in others.

There is little comparison, because we all have representation in Congress. We would be better off with at least 3 times as many members of the House, but we all have a voice.

As this abortion battle plays out from state to state, you will see just how much voice people have in local politics.

We also don't have to house the military in our homes, so that's a plus.

No taxation without representation counts somewhere.

The British were relatively decent, sane people compared to our current government and media establishment.

The current establishment is nearly pure evil.

They are indisputably corrupted by foreign interests, and we have an executive branch that circumvents the legislative process whenever they want, anyways.

Even better, the fbi raids your house if you went to a protest or if you ell your school board you don't want your kids learning how racist they are in school

But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security. Such has been the patient Sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the Necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. - Declaration of Independence - 1776

MAGA's are not fascist. They just want this government to live up to the vision and demands of our Consitution and Founding Fathers. If they refuse to do that then clearly it's time for a divorce.

We MAGA's simply want to live under a representative Consitutional Republic NOT a marxist socialist tyrannical government like Cuba or Venezuela.

Simple.

The American Revolution was fought because the colonists had grown accustomed to Britain's hands-off approach to their daily lives. From the founding of Jamestown onward, the nascent British Empire was focused more on the affairs in mainland Europe than she was with the affairs in her colonies. Over the intervening decades, this laissez-faire attitude led to an independent streak in the colonies who taxed themselves and governed themselves without much say or involvement from the mother country.

Then came the Seven Years' War and Britain's fateful decision to tax the colonists to help pay off debts that had accumulated from the constant warfare that had gripped the country since the dawn of the 18th century. The colonists, who had grown so used to not even being noticed by Parliament, recoiled with hostility. The British for their part were confused as to why the colonists were behaving in this way and the colonists were confused as to why Parliament couldn't understand their disdain for being taxed without representation in Parliament.

Distance, the end of laissez-faire, and a lack of general understanding of grievances is what led to the American Revolution.

Not just any colonist. George Washington is the one who essentially started it.

He did not. He was merely the one that our current administration would drone strike.

Yup. And so few of us know that. But I knew you did.
