They are way more peaceful these days than BLM and a portion of Muslims.

They're probably the weakest and most insignificant group of people in this country, but it makes for a sexy battle cry

Because Red Forman is their leader, and they go after Samuel L and Matthew McC.

This started in the 60s as a subversive plot by the USSR and has carried over into today's democrats.

Because it's easy and without consequence to attack something that is all but completely powerless and non-existent.

Don't you know the KKK is actually the "alt-right"?

They just changed names or something like that

Growing up in Ascension Parish, there was an old Klansman who lived a couple miles away. He had painted his barn with a racial rant and confederate imagery. When he finally died of cancer as an old man, about 8 years ago, his children painted over the murals and took down the stars and bars.

When I was a teen, I went canoeing in Mississippi and passed crosses set up and prepared for burning on the river bank.

When I was in high school, the klan attempted to hold a rally in my town. The neighborhood was so irate that the Klan cancelled.

Oh, and David Duke made the runoff for governor in 1992, and still received upwards of 60,000 votes for U.S. Senate this week.

The Klan is weak, has little influence, and doesn't do 1/10th of the vandalism attributed to them by social media, but they do exist.

As to why they are boogymen? It's because they are white, they killed thousands (albeit a long time ago), their imagery is instantly recognizable, and they endorsed the newly elected president (not that Trump gave 2 shirs about them).

Right? They haven't been relevant since... well... before desegregation.

BLM on the other hand. They kill cops. Black ones too.

If it wasn't for the media pumping them all over the place I wouldn't even know they still existed

Because their predecessors have killed thousands of black and other minority people over the years.
