Stay out of that shithole that is the ME. It's a waste of time and money.

Fwiw, ISIS said that they were coming after America and Russia in the Vice videos. ISIS hates everyone.
All we have to do to in limiting wherever they come and go is to nail down and eliminate their source of Toyota pickups.

Some of our foreign endeavors have indeed been for noble, selfless and altruistic reasons, but the majority of them have for selfish reasons IMO.

When it comes to foreign relations, I would separate China from the U.S. and Russia. The U.S. and Russia tells third world countries, "If don't do this, we'll bomb you", "If you don't do that we'll sanction you". China says, "If you do this we'll build a damn for you", "If you do that we'll build a bridge for you".

We do this too but it's usually for the benefit of the World Bank, IBRD, and IMF, often after we've first blown everything up.

The terrorists hate America mostly for our government's support of Israel.
And having troops in the holy land.
Remember, "they" fought the USSR in the 80's.
Hating America is good for terrorist business.

War needs a bogeyman. Unfortunately, it's often a requirement, otherwise the real motive would never sell.

I understand why but I can only speak for myself regarding the reason I don't usually buy into the bogeyman threat.

Many people are making money off of it and they all seem to have some influence on the actions of our government. I consider it pretty naive to think otherwise.

Afghan Mujahideen during the Soviet war? America.
At the time, Operation Cyclone was a good idea.

Yeah, that's obvious.
But, US support of Israel will always be the root cause of their hate.
Even if we never bomb them again.
