I read through this thread and all I can is "Yep. The politicians and power brokers have all of us exactly where they want us."
We need to stop all of this divisive nonsense and focus our attention on the ruling class that want us divided.

My quote was in response to the question of why groups like BLM highlight the shooting of people who have established criminal records. My point was that they are not saying that these people are saints, they are addressing the following:
And then the geniuses of the Poli Board jumped in with "science," asserting:
And then pointing out the studies they cite, with the following description:
Which brings us all around to the answer to the question. It isn't that Michael Brown and Alton Sterling are upstanding citizens, it is that when black citizens are involved in an encounter with police, the risk of violence increases dis-proportionally. While the actual risk of death during the encounter may not, the Poli Board science advocates should agree with the basic premise. The white citizens who are involved in encounters with police are also suspected of bad behavior. The fact that the risk of violence goes way up if the suspect is black is a legitimate issue.

the disparity in treatment during arrest or confrontation with the police is the exact issue they are highlighting
And then the geniuses of the Poli Board jumped in with "science," asserting:

Just wondering if you are aware that study after study has proven the exact opposite , that police are actually LEFF likely to use violence on blacks.
And then pointing out the studies they cite, with the following description:
quote:
On non-lethal uses of force, blacks and Hispanics are more than fifty percent more likely to experience some form of force in interactions with police. Adding controls that account for important context and civilian behavior reduces, but cannot fully explain, these disparities.

All he was doing was "selling CD's" huh. Bootleg CD's? That is a federal offense as well as being an ongoing criminal enterprise meaning his WAY OF LIFE was based on CRIME, day in and day out.

My wife (Black) and I had a short-lived argument over this: "they didn't even let him get his gun out before they shot him". I explained to her the lunacy of that statement. Seriously, the police have to let him actually get the gun in his hand before they can shoot him? Really? What's next? THey have to let him get a round in the chamber? They have to let him get off the first shot? Let's not forget that this wild animal WAS a child-sex offender who had failed to register so he was already wanted. He was also operating a criminal enterprise as a way of life: selling bootleg CD's and DVD's. Federal offense. The store owner who let him do it should be charged.

Selling bootleg CD's. As in illegal, federal offense just to possess one.

I'd bet you know very little about struggle. Not many people struggling have time to rant ad nauseam in message boards.

Until you and others with your frame of mind humble themselves, take a sit, and realize that you don't know everything, progress will continue to more at a slower pace than it should
Wow. There's more wrong in that shite laden statement than an R Kelly sex tape.
