I like him when he's bloviating but like the rest up there, he doesn't seem to actually get anything done. Way better than that other TX senator who is a straight up white-guilt cuck.

The Dems seem to always get plenty of what they want whenever the Repubs are celebrating a "win".

To add..I think Cruz getting called out for not supporting his daughters "identity confusion" is a bad for governing as a conservative as he is going to make it personal.

Ie...why I lost all respect for Bush for not pushing the marriage amendment he campaigned on. Because of Cheney's lesbo daughter.

The left hates him and it’s easy to figure that out.

On the right, he was praised…until Trump, treated him like he’s doing DeSantis, called him Lyin Ted. All the hard line Trump supporters followed suit.

Then he became Lion Ted and loved again.

Same will happen w/ DeSantis, even though they call him establishment or Desanctimonious now

I'm not some huge ted cruz fan by any means, but I've always thought he was over-hated as far as politicians go

I don't hate him. I like him a lot...for certain roles.

He's good as a Senator. He'd be even better as an Attorney General, and even better than that as SCOTUS.

But I wouldn't want him as president. I don't think he'd be able to govern. Sometimes he's a little too much like a televangelist, and he is widely disliked by members of his own party in the Senate.

I'd love to see a Republican President appoint him to be attorney general.

Same reason a LOT of people hate any republican or conservative. They are programmed to do so by the democrat propaganda media, and academia.

Damn near all politicians are scum, and Cruz is a politician. But as politicians go, Cruz is one of my favorites.

Of course, I am a white, Christian, conservative, heterosexual male, who thinks pedophiles should be executed, groomers should be imprisoned, we have entirely too many laws, but they should apply to everyone in the country, that there are only 2 genders, and this isn't fluid according to how you feel that day. That alone makes me worthy of death according to many.

Everything you said.

And at least I got you your one upvote before the downvote landslide starts.

Because he’s conservative, intelligent, and good at argument.
I think the OP is asking why so many people right-of-Center seem to have a problem with him.

I used to dislike him. Now I recognize he's a really smart conservative.

His problem is he has a punchable face and he's a politician.

As opposed to the geniuses in California and Hawaii?

You still hang on to Cruz going to Mexico as a slight to the population….. funny though… I didn’t see your tirade over Biden gloating to the Maui residents they he still has his corvette and then falling asleep on them.

Care to link that? K thx.

Wow, I think his speech patterns are perfect. He's very logical and very concise. That's rare with most extemporaneous speaking by politicians.

I think he is much more liked than he was in the 2016 primaries. He was ripped on constantly back then by conservative voters. He rehabbed his image with many righty voters, not by drastically changing anything. He just got more exposure and people got to know his platform better.

I like Ted alot. He was my guy in 2016, he is one of the 2-3 smartest people in the Senate, and his command of rhetoric is impressive. But he does have a very nasal voice that can get a bit annoying.

Honestly, I think it is mostly Trumpers who have a problem with him, lingering from the fact that he was Trump's only major speed bump in 2016.

No he just didn’t take it personally like some others did. Chris Christie comes to mind. He’s able to compartmentalize each issue and have a principled opinion. If he agrees with Trump, so be it.

I generally support Cruz due to his general political positions on topics. I am not sure what he has really accomplished though to make the country better. All the politicians there are just arguing about nothing and lining their pockets.

His wife is also a Goldman Sachs manager. Kind of wonder what that is all about. It seems like the perfect combination of Wall Street and US Senator.

What he needs to do is build a coalition of conservative senators, and rally moderate senators to the conservative side, like Gingrich did in the House decades ago. He or some other conservative senator needs to lead a coalition of senators to fundamental conservative principles.

We have independent senators with no core guiding values that can coalesce around constitutional principles.

So Cruz is 1 of a 100 and hasn’t shown the ability, or interest, to rally senators to his conservative positions.
