AL and LA are both low property tax rate states however any amount I believe to be offensive.

Think you own your house? Stop making your yearly rent check to your state government and see what happens.

Property and estate / inheritance taxes are disgusting.

So that we can have roads . . . . to get to our property?

Ditto for income taxes.

Taxes should be collected when we voluntarily spend our wealth, not taken by force when we earn it.

Only if a government derives its powers from the consent of the governed. Which actually makes a lot of sense.

So you can have roads, water, sewerage, street lights, police, fire, and schools?

All of those things can and should be privatized.
Taxation is theft.

It's a much better debate the Kaepernicks antics or "grab em by the pussy" or Hillary's emails. Taxes are ultimately our chains to an overbearing system of government.

Of all the things to bitch about, the $500 in property taxes or whatever it is in Louisiana is the least of my worries

Government administration, roads, schools, parks and rec, drainage. I feel like we're coming out ahead in this deal.

If you knew how much it costs to redo a blacktop road, even in a neighborhood, you wouldn't complain about it.

Now inheritance taxes are a flat out racket, I agree with you on that one.

Fair enough.

Just understand you don't really own your property. The government's rent is small, but it must be paid.

Why tax it once when you can tax it twice!

So you're saying I should only pay for those services I consume and when I consume them and not be forced at the point of a gun to pay for other people's stuff? Intradasting!

In all seriousness, life as we know it would be over. Things would be much harder and we would have a lot less conveniences. But we could be truly free. Pick your poison.
