You're right on both accounts, Hillary and her sycophants would not have stopped until he was ruined

That's an assumption based on Trump being the only one who could have beaten Hillary. Which is something only found up a bulls-behind. She was simply un-electable and this dud proved it. Though it makes a nice make believe tale for the kids.

Because he does not give a sh*t about governing. All he did to get the right wing vote was to lie and sling sh*t. And most of you on this board bought it...LOL

You ask this as if you believe he understood any of the working parts. Lol

Zero background in government or in healthcare. And you're gonna belly up to the pulpit and fix one of the most complicated (or at least massive) legislative reforms ever?

Maybe all of this nonsense causes them to stop talk "repeal and replace" and start trying to compromise and tweak it to improve it. The Dems passed something. If Trump wasn't the guy in the WH maybe they could pass something too.

You guys all clamor at how he is "playing the MSM". His tweets and blurbs he gives the Press cause chaos for regular politicians. Some of these folks are in areas where they can be flipped out of office in a cycle by getting onboard with something Trump tweets on a Tuesday because he thinks his poop is golden eggs.

You mean the same voter base that Gruber called stupid and would vote for anything.... right context, wrong voter base.

Because he's never had a specific vision or solution for the healthcare debate. We all kind of laughed it off when all he could say was erase the lines between states, but the guy clearly doesn't have any original thoughts on the topic at hand.

So he just latches on to whatever is up for a vote hoping that something will pick up positive momentum. He's got a short memory so I don't think he contemplates how this cycle erodes his mandate to fix it.

That narrative really pisses me off - he clearly risked a TON to run for president and almost lost.

Think about how badly the lives of he and his kids would have changed if he had lost - social events would have been halved or worse, businesses would've taken a disastrous blow. Reputations would have been charred.

Just using common sense, Trump ran for altruistic reasons.

I hope that was sarcasm, because, if not, its the stupidest post I've ever read.

If Trump loses by 5 points to Hillary he still gets to say that he's a political outsider with no experience who took on Washington and the Clinton machine and barely lost. He could promote himself as nothing short of a wizard for having pulled that off.

Not to mention his brand name got gillions of dollars of free publicity.

Trump could have had a win/win personally if he'd played a wiser hand. Instead he publicly went all in with a clearly weak hand and looks ineffective now.

he is completely clueless on how to build consensus. And he knows is close to complete failure, with low approval ratings and no legislative accomplishments. But his advisers were telling him these bills sucked.

He is quite frankly desperate, so he supported the bills but didn't put his weight behind it.

A particularly effective losing strategy IMHO.
