True story. I get that they want a better life but there are real negatives to it that are being ignored. Then its a guilt trip or everyone's racist for opposing it.
First it was all about jobs that Americans wouldnt work but know there are waves of children making the trip and none of them are even close to legal working age.

I haven't done the research on this, but I'm sure it would violate a few international treaties and piss off a lot of countries that have missiles too.

In fact, if they cross into this country illegally, they are all criminals.

Because it wouldn't be worth the hassle of taking care of another 118,000,000 people, the vast majority of whom are extremely poor and uneducated. Why would we want that? For some oil? For some drug cartels? I know we already have an issue with millions of illegal Mexican immigrants here, but that doesn't mean we want to at 100 million more.

With the exception of a couple of beaches, Mexico is a hellhole of a country. Proof: all the people running away from there, willing to live in the shadows here, making $2/hr.
The infrastructure is a joke. PEMEX is a joke. There's rampant poverty and crime. How would we fix that? We can't invest in our own country to fix the problems we currently have.
Sadly, the Mexican people probably get more help from us today, via foreign aid, then they would get as the 51st - 58th states.

Most of you are too young to remember but we bailed out Mexico some years ago when they were about to go bankrupt. I suggested a better deal. The US could pay off Mexico's debt in return for the Baja Peninsula. Lot's of ocean front property that American developers could turn into a valuable real estate.
But did they listen to me? Noooo.
