Did you come up with that version of history by yourself or did you read it somewhere?

Why are there statues of Romans? The Romans enslaved people and they lost to invading forces.

The Colosseum triggers me. Slaves were forced to fight lions, tigers, and trained charioteers. It must come down now!

Hitler was specifically against having statues of himself, during the third reich. Learn some history sweetie.

This is incorrect. He didn't commission large statues of himself, but there were statues of Hitler made, and many of them were placed in important cultural positions in Germany/Austria (town squares, churches, etc.).

Don't be a dumbass.

In part because no huge public statues of him ever existed.

During the nazi period there were a lot of “Adolf-Hitler-Straße” streets and “Adolf-Hitler-Platz” squares/piazzas, but no statues of him.

There are plenty of WWII related statues.

etc., etc.

If you're calling me a leftist, you're a dumbass. I'm actually a right leaning moderate. I just commented in another thread against Hillary.

This thread is meant to bring out the alt-righters, which it clearly has.

So you would agree with Francisco Franco's kulturkampf after the Spanish civil war against the Spanish Republic, the Basques, and the Catalans?

You don't see nazi flags flying in Germany either, because it's illegal there.

In America we like this little thing called freedom. I know it's a tough concept to grasp for people that need the government to control every aspect of a person's life.

That's simply false, and you are an embarrassment to our country's present.

To the OP, it is obvious that you have never been to Germany.

You can see busts of Hitler in Nuremberg, Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's nest), etc to remind people of the horror that was Hitler. It is framed as a reminder of what evil can happen.

I've been to Germany a few times actually. You don't hear Germans clamoring to put up statues of Hitler or being able to use a swastika.

I have not been to the eagle's nest, but ONE bust of him there to serve another purpose seems slightly more appropriate then putting statues of racist figures all around the south.
