Yesterday, 75% of this board was giddy that Cruz could possibly be named AG, with lots of folks having wanted Rudy a few days earlier. How different is Sessions from either of these two? Pretty much everyone you have in the pool for AG is either going to be uber right wing or establishment.

Is Gowdy for legalization or against civil asset forfeiture? I'm just curious about today's faux outrage

I don't get it either. He was TRUMP'S first endorsement and has always been by TRUMP'S side. People are acting surprised.

Sessions is a great American with Southern Conservative values. God Bless the man. Now Trump needs to get Bill Pryor on the Supreme Court.

Trump is making America Great Again!!!

Legalize it like Obama right? No one was expecting legalization but making it easier to get would be a start for a Republican elected president. Then tax the shite out of it like they do everything else lol

I like sessions, but not as AG. Drug war and asset forfeiture, etc are actually improtant issues to an AG. Wish it was Cruz or Lee.

People don't realize the extent to which Sessions helps Trump. He offered him his staff early on and was a key part of him winning early southern primaries as handily as he did

He has, however, called the war on drugs a failure and a joke that needs to be ended.

Sessions meanwhile essentially holds a Reefer Madness view on pot.

So... seems like the WOD will be ongoing.

Because I thought we were going to MAGA but I guess instead we're just going to spend billions of my tax dollars on dumb laws based on emotions and feelings (and lobbyist dollars most importantly)

Drain the Swamp indeed.

Trump promised in his campaign to stop the flow of drugs into places like NH. Did you follow his campaign?

If it makes you feel any better, I'm not. I'm also not surprised by the pick.
