Oh, thank goodness. I'm a total buffoon who was worried Trump would angrily drop nukes on people while on a 3 AM Tweeting binge.

Don't think it was in an actual interview. It was one of those hearsay things. He had a briefing with some expert, and it was a question that he reportedly asked. It's one of those things that isn't concrete, but it does seem kind of believable. In an interview he did stumble over a question about what the nuclear triad is though, which is kind of bad.

edit: Here's the story that you are referring to.

LINK

quote:

"Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can't we use them," Scarborough said on his "Morning Joe" program.

Most rational human beings wouldn't say that.

I agree, unfortunately most leftists including the MSM are not rational in their hatred of Trump. Garrett is DEMANDING to know what Trump is going to do about a Russian ship steaming in international waters. Hay Major what should the Russians do with our spy ships? Go all Pueblo on them? There is enough not to like Trump for. You don't have to make shite up!

Given Trump's generally erratic behavior and spur of the moment comments (such as when he lied about the NFL sending him a letter dealing with the timing of the debate on Monday night and when he told Chris Matthews that he thought there should be some form of punishment for women who have abortions), I can totally believe Trump asked the question about using nuclear weapons. I'm no big fan of Scarborough, but I think he has good sources and wouldn't just make up something like that.

Did anyone else catch in the press conference that he received a "briefing" where he learned that a nuclear holocaust doesn't have any good side

And the way he said it in the press conference, as though he was telling everyone a big "revelation" that nuclear holocaust is bad, as if his audience needed to be "informed" about that fact.

The question about abortion was based on if abortion was illegal and a woman had an abortion - would she be punished.

Key word - ILLEGAL. I hope and pray that anyone that does anything that is against the law would be held accountable for their lawlessness. Breaking the law has consequences. So, of course trump is going to answer the question the way he did. If you break the law you get punished. I don't understand how the right and the left see the same interview and have different perceptions.

In context to what he was talking about, it made sense to me the point he was making. Basically there are all these questions about Trump's ties to Russia (which he has none) and he point out the obvious that Hillary Clinton sold 20% of our uranium stores to Russia. He then made the point that do you know what they do with uranium? If you need me to break it down further, he is saying that it's completely hypocritical of the media to pursue fake news stories of Trump/ Russian ties and completely ignore the bitch that sold the Russians 20% of our uranium.

Well, when a Republican possibly violates the law, you people don't seem eager to pursue it. That partisan hack Jason Chaffetz is just sweeping the Flynn business under the rug, along with that other right-wing partisan hack, Jeff Sessions. You hypocrites don't even care about the Russians illegally interfering in the U.S. election since it aided Trump in getting elected. The sad truth is that you people only care about lawbreakers when it's not one of your own, so get off of your high horse you hypocritical, right-wing douche.

The question was a basic one about Russian aggression. Presidents including Reagan, Bush, and Obama have fielded these questions, usually with talks of sanctions or diplomatic warnings. Trump went straight to nuclear war.

The Uranium One comment was separate and even more ridiculous. None of the Uranium reserve now owned by Russia is allowed to leave the US. Talking about nuclear weapons and "other bad things" in relation to the deal was just a huge lie.

I work in IT with large data projects and software development. I am a semi-retired "community organizer" and I tend to agitate public officials by successfully opposing them or pointing out their mistakes.

Perhaps while sitting your high horse you forgot to include a few critical issues. I know you are not being hypocritical so I thought I should help. Four issues need to be investigated. 1 what did Flynn do and was it illegal. We don't know, but since it can be assumed that the leaker was trying to do harm, that the MSM would happily do its job and completely report wrongdoing, and that so far it has said he did nothing illegal, then there is PROBABLY no there-there. But we should look. 2 if there was illegal activity by Flynn, was Trump involved? Again, PROBABLY not, but we should look. 3 all of the supposed Russian activities occurred during the Obama administration. Why didn't they release information earlier, why didn't they condemn Russia earlier, why didn't they place sanctions on Russia earlier, and why did they choose such lame sanctions if the activities are as horrible as we are being led to believe? And 4 the only illegal activities by an American that we positively know about was a security breach and leak of intelligence information and techniques! That unpatriotic miserable excuse of human life, must be found, prosecuted, and imprisoned for decades! I'm sure as an advocate of law and order you agree!

For you to suggest that President Trump is so crazy he would not know the horrific effect of a nuclear holocaust is proof that you are a scumbag.

And it will be harder to find the leaker because just 17 days before leaving office, Obama signed an EO giving raw intelligence data to all 13 intelligence agencies instead of just one (NSA) which was the original EO signed by Reagan.
