Yeah, you are so right. Good, honorable men.

The democrats lost that.

GWBush was far from perfect but I will never understand why that pic of him being told about 911 by Andy Card; and W continuing to read to the children was so highly criticized.

Have they no class? You don't scare children. You finish up quickly and leave.

You make some good points. I wonder if debates will be changed in the future to be less partisan left and with no fed answers or democrats cheating?

The internet makes it impossible to prevent prescreened questions from being leaked.

The Democrats won't allow anyone NOT cheating to be associated, affiliated, nor labeled as Dem To be a Democrat one MUST be currently engaged in shenanigans, political, financial, and ethical, preferably multiple issues all intertwined and incorporating multiple instances of each category but yet not all 3 in one single occurrence. Easier to obfuscate that way.

RNC needed to take immediate action shortly after the November election. Maybe they did, but I have my doubts.

In politics 6 months is an eternity. We're not even one month into Trump's initial term.

I've taken a look at some mid-term polling and the numbers inside the number, but I'm mostly watching policy, and there hasn't been a lot of that yet. And not on here as of late either.

My friend is running for Governor here. I'll probably get active in that. But mostly am disinterested in what most others seem to be interested in now.

I played golf and fished today. That along with the rally was a nice break away from CNNN this board and DC over analyzing every last piece of minutia.

I vividly remember this, but I also vividly remember Dan Quayle criticizing an episode of the TV show Murphy Brown, which showed the lead character eschewing marriage in favor of single parenthood.

He was thoroughly excoriated by liberals for his mere disagreement, with said liberals assuring everyone that this was not in any way a glorification of single parenthood, nor was it critical of the religious institution of marriage.

Twenty-five years later, I haven't decided whether liberals just lied out their arse, or whether they were that stupid and/or evil.

Working from an inaccurate flash card prepared by a teacher, he corrected William Figueroa, 12, when the child spelled "potato" on the blackboard – making the boy add an unnecessary "e" at the word's end. Quayle would never hear the end of it.

The media assault for this goof was truly relentless. The young Figueroa crystallized the effects of this incident on Quayle's public image when he said that it "showed that the rumors about the vice president are true – that he's an idiot."

Washington Post - Dan Quayle's Potatoe Incident - 1992

Another example of "fake news' by the media, as this additional information would have changed the story from the desired narrative. Anyone in his place in that moment would likely assume the card was correct (prepared by the teacher) and there was an alternative spelling the kids had been taught. Instead it's "Look, Quayle is dumb."

Typical stuff.

Media circus to feed the narrative that Republicans are dumb.

The fact that we are talking about it 25 years later tells you all you need to know.

It was fairly manufactured as well. Adding the e to potato was an alternative spelling.

The e is added when you pluralize potato which may have thrown him off but it was just a circle jerk.

After they threw such a hissy fit over it, I just switched to Tater. Frick em!

I was 9 at that time, and I heard about it. I can't say that I remember much else about the presidency at that time. I just remember thinking that spelling it "potatoe" was okay. Still am not sure why that was a big deal.
