I wouldn't say that losing the popular vote is a landslide. He won the EC by a healthy margin, but it was obviously a competitive, close race. He only won PA, MI, and WI by 100,000 combined. That's a razor's edge margin.

Why are people acting like the popular vote means anything? It doesn't.

Electoral College is how we elect Presidents. It is not a new thing. We've been doing it for decades upon decades.

You don't like it? Fine. Move or change it. Until then. STFU about the popular vote. It means shite.

Yep. That doesn't change the numbers, though.

I like you, DB...but are you dense? There is no argument here. Even if you divided it out by congressional district(which I would like to see) it's still a landslide. Popular vote doesn't matter. It's just a number. And you know why.

You'd think these #Never folk would just get tired of being flat out wrong and pack it up. It's almost impressive how much they are used to losing.

Honestly, I thought he was a 50/50 shot. I knew that the Rust Belt strategy could work. I knew that too many people were afraid of being seen as racist by supporting Trump openly, so they lied to pollsters and the news (or as we learned later told them to frick off). I thought that Trump would win Florida (Florida will always vote for the person they can see themselves having a beer with) and North Carolina.

My focus throughout the night was almost solely on Pennsylvania. I lived there for over a year, had the entire state as a sales territory, and I knew that Trump would be a very appealing to the state. Once he was winning in PA, I knew he had won. Granted I didn't think he would win Wisconsin, but I thought he could win most the Rust Belt and thus the election.

My other map had Trump losing the Rust Belt save for Indiana and that they wouldn't go out and vote as much as I was fearing they would.

I like how you can talk complete nonsense and still be smug about it.

Does it still count if I lost hope for about 30 minutes at around 5:30 pm when the DISHONEST MEDIA was spinning exit polls?

That is when we went out to get our new puppy to take our mind off of HRC.
Not kidding.

So election night was definitely a win-win for the NCT household

Here the puppy is:

Should have named her "Exit Polls 2016"

When we're defining a "landslide" we're typically talking more than 54%, particularly when he is behind by nearly 600k votes and counting.

Of course the popular vote doesn't change who was elected, but it's silly to call this a land slide. If we break it down further, as has already been done, you can see how close it actually was.
