You would probably just support those who would be violent by your criteria above. INSANE.

What would it take for you to be in favor of peaceful secession? (Posted on 6/23/14 at 7:55 pm)

Hillary winning? By vote of the people?
Obama continuing his creep to Stalinism? Stalinism by your account ?
More taxes, less results (or more results depending on how you see it)? (with total opposition from opposing party before taking office)
Fed gov knocking on your door demanding your guns? Where are they knocking ?

Fed gov obstructing a convention of states? INSANITY

Where is the tipping point? THIS THREAD

Or are you already there? Because of a difference in views ?

To be clear I am NOT advocating violence. SURE YOU AREN'T.

If it ever got bad enough for me to consider such a thing, I'd support government overthrow before secession.

We're nowhere near that point, though.

Like I said to booziebadazz, these are all things I have seen before on this board at one point or another. I don't believe all of those items. I don't even have any guns.

To be fair though Connecticut did pass a law making it legal to confiscate any weapons that weren't registered, even retroactively. They would be the ones knocking.

Also, presidents in this country don't need a majority of the popular vote to win office.

What makes you think I would resort to violence?

[quote]weagle99 What would it take for you to be in favor of peaceful secession? Southern states get too much federal money to leave.

Get too much federal money? You mean in relation to monies sent to Fed. Think of the revenue from oil and gas, control of Mississippi River, waters now federal becoming state waters, more efficient collection process no waste sending money to DC and begging for it back.
Money is a valid point, but really if a state country cuts entitlements the entitled will move to welfare states, more revenue freed up.

I'm not sure, but I'm seriously almost there. If the media actually did its job and exposed everything that was truly going on in FedGov, I'd probably be ready now.

Was going to say, cops kicking in doors would not be a peaceful confiscation. It would be a disaster for the door kickers after the first night of it.

How is FedGov drastically affecting your life on a day-to-day basis?

Some of you should step away from the Internet from time-to-time.

If you have to ask, you'll never know.

So you have no specifics and just like to be in perpetual victim mode?

Got it. Carry on with the butthurt.

That's probably because you've had to ask and will, unfortunately, never know.

Here's a couple, but by no means an exhaustive list:

Unsustainable fiscal policy resulting in spiraling debt.

Manipulating interest rates to levels so low we're possibly in a liquidity trap. Wait for the CRE bubble to burst.

Foreign policy clusterfricks.

Border violations in the Southwest.

Prism.

And that's got you ready to grab a rifle and stare down a federal agent?
