What kind of fear mongering will we see from JBE this morning?

Just saw on the local news that John Bel Edwards will address the media and legislators this morning asking for special session to make more cuts. Will we see more threats to cancel the LSU football season?

As bad as he's been, he's probably learned his lesson in that regard. I have no idea wtf he was thinking by going there.

Perhaps even this Tim Kaine look-alike idiot liar knows something about distraction. We let him raise taxes and take TOPS while we were laughing about shutting down hospitals and Tiger Stadium.

On the news here last night WBRZ had a touching story of a young boy who was depending on Medicaid to keep him healthy and vibrant.
It has already started.
They won't tell you the movie industry has gotten over a billion dollars of state money over the last several years, they'll just find examples of people in need and act as if there is no money for them.
As I see it there is money for them, it just goes to the movies, and other entities who do not need it as much as that little boy did.

I'm so fed up with the attempts at raising taxes they could cancel football if they want. There were 3 stories on the news in a row about different agencies that needed to raise taxes. Enough is enough.

Why don't we see what he says before jumping to conclusions?

If we don't let him engineer a lawsuit against the oil companies that he can give his lawyer buddies to get rich off of he is going to raise taxes again????
(If he ever succeeds with this lawsuit I doubt he goes after the landowners that made fortunes from the drilling. Those land owners include big democrats and local and state government. You never hear any of them complain about the erosion form oil field work. Would he go after the Longs? the Perezs? Johnson?)
Ole Buddy Leach can tell about the riches of legacy lawsuits

That's the question I already had, I know the oil companies paid landowners to drill, and dig canals for their equipment. What is the responsibility of the landowners here?

On a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is shutting down football, my guess is this will be a 7 on the "fear" scale.
Will be watching online. Should be interesting
Oh I should say I am OK with using the rainy day fund, but not the special session

Same here.
Jindal was criticized by Edwards and others for using one time money. Now Edwards is doing the same with the rainy day fund.
But if this isn't a rainy day, I don't know what is.
Just like Jindal, Edwards faces shrinking revenues and must do something. Raising taxes is the worst thing you could do.
I would use rainy day money for 1/3 of the revenue needed and for the other 2/3s I'd cut non essential spending.

I'm sure he will be busy spending tax dollars on stupid shite while he threatens to cut funding from LSU and watches our infrastructure deteriorate.

Eve worse than that, he's trying to get LSU MBB in a summer league.

This threat might actually work to get me on board with his tax increases...

Uh, is this some back door cancellation of football season-threat? I thought Football didn't receive money from the State, and was independent. Is this something like no school, no football?

I agree not at 50K a day. They should work for free if they need another special session.

This is exactly what it was.

This document shows how much more state and federal revenues we are taking in under the Edwards regime; yet we still can't balance the budget!!! It doesn't add up.

This document shows how much spending has increased under Edwards.
Now I realize because of Medicaid Expansion we are receiving way more federal dollars and we are spending way more dollars, but that certainly doesn't tell the entire story.
