Is his win a barometer on national politics and the Biden administration? Is his win just a referendum on state politics within Louisiana? Does this mean there will be progress in reducing crime in the cities? Will there now be major legislation introduced and passed that JBE was refusing to support? Non-resident here and not that familiar with the Louisiana political arena.

It pays to emphasize your accent, even though you’re only from St Martinville.

That democrat leadership has done nothing for the state except raise taxes and crime rates.

Learned that lesson from Hillary.

I don't know how many like me we have out there, but I'll NEVER vote for a Democrat again after these last few years. Republicans are just incompetent, Democrats are borderline evil.

I think the voters, although turnout was very low, see this as a referendum on Democrat failed policies on the national level.
How many old timers are still registered as Democrat (because that's how my daddy voted) but vote for a Republican in most cases? I call this ignorance!

I have no idea what you are talking about or to what you are referring. I do know that the collective IQ of this board drops several points every time you post. How about you answer the question or just...hush?

The Covid bullshite taught people the party actually matters.

I’m not super excited (or even too much excited at all) about Landry. He would never have fallen in line with our awful national Democrat admin’s Covid dictates.

That was probably enough for most people.

Most Louisiana voters are boomers that dont care about economics and public policy as long as you have an accent and are overly obsessed with social issues.

The democrats cannot win statewide races with socially progressive candidates. The black political machine is significantly more socially conservative than the DNC, and they won’t turn out for just any black candidate with a D by their name.

When I was campaigning door to door, I was shocked by how many elderly people said things like “I don’t want Louisiana to grow”, “I don’t know anyone who has moved away”, “good, less people, less crowded”, “we don’t want more companies coming here.”

Jon Bel was bragging about he expanded medicaid. Bragging.

Most normal (not infested with a mental disorder called liberalism) people would try and build the economy and reduce people's need for medicaid.

We used to joke about how hard Jeff tried to sound authentically Cajun That’s it.
As far as message, it just shows Landry was better organized far in advance. And crime is always a winning issue if you air scary commercials.

The message is Louisiana voters vote for the front runner who had the most money (much from trial lawyers) and the most support from our fake Republicans who were democrats during the 1990s.

Is the rate at which crime is happening not scary? Murder rates?

Go live in those areas and see if your family is scared to go out at night. Otherwise GFY.

You have no pulse on anything really outside your weird little uptown “progressive” enclave.

You’re basically that Madison O’Malley ditz trapped in some Boomer old dude.

They're usually the first to complain when their kid has to move to Houston too. It's a direct result of their voting habits.
