I don't care about Sterling. I don't care about the NBA. What bothers me is the competition amongst white sports writers and broadcasters to see who can be the most outraged...in order to demonstrate how not racist they are.

writer A ... I'm not a racist because I am outraged.
writer B... I'm less racist than you because I think he should lose his team.
writer C... I'm less racist than both of you because I think he should be put in prison.
writer D... I'm the least racist person in the world because I think he should be put to death without a trial and his whole family imprisoned for life.

Compared to when the black Dallas Cowboy Tackle drove drunk and killed his teammate.

Writers A,B,C,D... "Well, that's a shame...now, moving on ....."

I don't think it has anything to do with black people. I think that he doesn't want his girlfriend running around with other men so publicaly.

No, because he specifically said don't post photos on Instagram of herself with black people. And don't bring black people to his games.

White people were fine in his opinion to take pictures with and bring to games.

The white guilt crowd is way more "outraged" over this than even the black players.

Link? The black players seem pretty pissed to me.

The Sterling situation should be compared to the Riley Cooper situation. He's a POS who showed his true colors.

Except that Sterling doesn't have a Michael Vick to step up and defuse the situation. Vick sured pure class with the way he handled the Riley Cooper situation, not to mention Nick Foles. Ironically, prison seems have made him into a better person.

Perfectly put. It's rather stupid. Even in the HOU/Portland game last night, Jeff Van Grumpy would not let the shite rest. If I wanted a lesson in morality, I'd go to church.

But Magic Johnson?

Magic Johnson has a reputation as a womanizer and overall piece of crap. And, he has AIDS.

It was there for the taking. They could have made Sterling look bad, and made themselves simply be above his ignorance.

I agree that it wouldn't have taken a genius to handle this better. Like you said, even Vick was able to figure it out.

And here come the thinly veiled comments from the opposite side... I love these situations. We get to see the racists come out on both sides of the aisle

quote:

Knicks executive and former player Larry Johnson had a decidedly different but still strong reaction to the racially insensitive remarks Clippers owner Donald Sterling is alleged to have made.

On Saturday night, Johnson tweeted: “Black people your Focusing on the wrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own team own League! To For Self!!’’

The initial indication was Johnson was calling for an all-African-American league complete with black ownership. It wasn’t the first time Johnson, who is black, concerned himself with the fact the NBA’s ownership is mostly white while its players are mostly black.

It would be a story, but it would also not be anywhere near as big.

That goes back to my post earlier... A lot of people want to stand up and beat their drum about an issue, but don't want to follow through and truly make a statement that may hurt themselves.

I think Rivers along with the team should refuse to play and demand trades in the off season, unless Sterling agrees to put the team up for sale asap

Larry Johnson is a moron. Nobody is stopping black people from forming their own league. And nobody is stopping black people from owning teams in the NBA.
