It might be a negotiating tool, in case he ever gets handed over to authorities

So?
Rod Wheeler is well known, and he knows his stuff.
He's a respected former homicide detective with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington DC.
FOX brings him on when they need expert opinions on police goings on.

I encourage you to watch any of the numerous available video clips of his TV spots; he's anythung but a political shill.

Does not mean shite when he is weighing in on cybersecurity issues.

I'm not even sure if it's the same guy. You don't think it would be strange if the PI making the claims also worked for the station reporting the story?

Young man could wind up a hero.

But, I have to ask. Did he own any clothes that weren't patterned after the American flag?

Confirmed. Still waiting for evidence that he was assassinated.

we are all still waiting on evidence of collusion, Russian "hacking", and disclosure of highly classified secrets.

I guess we can all just wait.

I'm on an interactive map and have went back all the way to 2010. Only murder in the Bloomingdale area since then is... Seth Rich.
Well this lady from Bloomingdale went missing on Christmas, and was last known to be at her home.

She was later found dead: Bloomingdale Lady Found Murdered

But there were a number of robberies reported in that area before Rich's murder. Of course, that would give an assassination a good cover, but what a terrible assassin to not follow through.

Of course, it also means a robbery could have gone bad. And the person freaked out since, well he/she just committed murder. But I guess that's just not plausible.

He's worked for Homeland Security on issues related to security plans and defense.
I'd be shocked if issues related to cyber-security isn't on his CV.
Not sure why you're wanting to discredit him? The guy knows his stuff.

So then Assange must have details of the murder, if his statement negates the possibility that Rich was murdered for any other possible reason.

Not what I said. Murders happen all the time, so why would Assange take such an interest in this one? He's smart enough to know that by commenting on it, by helping with a reward for info, people would naturally start wondering if Seth Rich was his source. So if he wasn't a source, why would Assange make any statement about this guy? Is it possible that Seth Rich was just a victim of a random act of violence? Sure, anything is possible. However, when a dnc staffer who is supposed to be meeting with the FBI turns up dead and Julian Assange starts talking about it, you can't help but sense that there is more to the story.

Whatever happened to that report that rich was conscious for two hours prior to his death and spoke to rescue personnel?

Fake?

Maybe Rich was the leaker? That is much more plausible than he was the leaker AND he was assassinated.

I don't know. He may wonder what truly happened, it Rich was the leaker.

But while Assange releases legitimate information via wikileaks, he also likes to stir the pot on Twitter, on his own accord.

And I'm not saying there isn't. I'm just saying that whatever that probability is, the probability that he was also assassinated is much lower.
