WAPO: Huge win for Trump & devasting loss for dems

The buzz in Washington surrounding the race for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District was all bad for the last couple of weeks. People had been bad-mouthing the Republican candidate, Karen Handel, they had been insulting the Republican National Committee’s competence and they had been dismissing any notion that Republicans could pull through to defeat the energized “resistance.” But the ashen, sour and dejected faces on CNN Tuesday night following Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff’s defeat made the last 10 days of Republicans’ worry and anxiety worthwhile. By any measure, the victory proves the Republican political machine is alive and working well.
Heading into Tuesday, Democrats were prepared to bask in their self-righteous glory and proclaim an outright victory in the wake of President Trump’s political decline. They wanted to claim a successful referendum on the Trump administration and the president’s “America First” policies. But with Handel comfortably pulling through to claim her seat, Democrats are left with nothing to show for their tens of millions of dollars and full-court press.
If anything, this race proves Republicans have no reason to be defensive as a result of Obamacare’s demise, it shows Republicans have nothing to hide from in the age of Trump and it signifies that nothing about the current faux-scandal-ridden environment has produced a downdraft for Republicans.
The WAPO is actually correct for once. This win will give the senate & house gop members proof that the country has not turned on POTUS and Trump will not drag them down in 2018. Healthcare & tax reforms just became locks. This election proves that the dems have become the Cleveland Browns. No matter what they try, they just can't win.

They know where the country is taking off to, and want to be relevant for when the Dims die off. $$ over narrative.

I got to this part and knew a WaPo staff writer didn't pen the article.

Is it a coincidence that this article appeared in the WaPo just two days after Jeff Bezos met with Trump in the White House for a technology round table discussion?

A salient point for me was that the Dems couldn't find anyone better than John Ossoff - in all of Georgia - to provide $35,000,000 in campaign funds to.
Bizarre.
Bizarre.

While I like the vote-porn columns as much as anybody, I wish posters would not present stuff like this as "WAPO says..." as if it came from the editorial board. Just because they are published by WAPO (or any other MSM outlet), Op-Ed's, Columns, and Blogs are not "the voice" of said publication.

Eh, this is an opinion piece from Ed Rogers, who's very conservative.
This is the same thing as the Glenn Reynolds article from USA Today. They're opinion pieces that don't reflect the actual political leaning of the publication.
ETA: Don't worry...WaPo is still the same proggy mouthpiece of the DNC.

If they were going for an Obama 2.0, they should have found a gay african american.
To answer Russian's question, yes I think this a coincidence.

The power of Kek works in wonderful ways if you let him into your heart.

Maybe the McConnells and Ryans of the world will now have the confidence to move forward on tax reform.
The friggin republicans never fail to disappoint when it comes down to talk vs action whether it is Jindal in BR, W in DC or now the entire republican Congress.
One more thing----when Scalise is healthy again he will have a window IMHO to assume the speakership if he wants it.

Only bought 20% of it, in a back channel deal, Mueller delivered it personally though.

It is interesting that the dems have obviously been spending money on convincing women once again they are victims yet none celebrate the election of a woman to Congress.
