Wait! So now Manafort is guilty of being Anti-Russian and Pro-Ukrainian?

After Campaign Exit, Manafort Borrowed From Businesses With Trump Ties
By MIKE McINTIREAPRIL 12, 2017
Aug. 19 was an eventful day for Paul Manafort.
That morning, he stepped down from guiding Donald J. Trump’s presidential campaign, after a brief tenure during which Mr. Trump won the Republican nomination, Democrats’ emails were hacked and the campaign’s contacts with Russia came under scrutiny. Dogged by revelations about past financial dealings in Ukraine, Mr. Manafort retreated from public view.
But behind the scenes, he was busy with other matters. Papers were recorded that same day creating a shell company controlled by Mr. Manafort that soon received $13 million in loans from two businesses with ties to Mr. Trump, including one that partners with a Ukrainian-born billionaire and another led by a Trump economic adviser. They were among $20 million in loans secured by properties belonging to Mr. Manafort and his wife.

It's worth repeating:

He got it from some misleading right wing outrage site. He probably pasted their headline.

Brah, Manafort was working for Putin's puppet in Ukraine...
That's why he won't step foot back in the country. He'll be arrested.

Just read this dude's Wikipedia page: Paul Manafort. It's incredible. He even did PR work for the ISI in Pakistan to deflect from their terrorism.
And, yeah, the article describes what everyone has known all along--Manafort consistently worked for post-Soviet, pro-Russian oligarchs in Ukraine who were funneling corrupt money out of the country, and suppressing all pro-Western political activity in that country.
The one thing to Manafort's credit is that he did apparently lobby Yanukovych to adopt closer economic ties to the EU (while simultaneously adopting closer economic ties to Russia), but Putin got too jealous, ordered Yanukovych to reneg on the EU deal, the Euromaidan protests happened... and the rest is history.

This board would be nuts with people creaming themselves if Clinton had a staffer step down, and then immediately open a business and take millions in loans. Especially if that person has a history of off the book transactions with foreign countries that he lied about previously.

It's almost like you've never investigated the original story from a year ago.

exactly. Russia is no big deal, but my god think of the pizza/child sex ring! Or hillary is a lesbian! or obama was born in kenya!

It's comical that people still refuse to see the obvious corrupt connections between the Trump campaign and Russia. It's so freaking obvious.

NC, you need to delete this. You read it all wrong. Manafort is a Kremlin whore. And he was a Kremlin whore's whore when he worked in Ukraine.

Wut
I'd have an issue with any candidate doing shady deals. I don't give a rat's about some short term staffer.
