Well here is an evaluation of Putin from someone who has personally dealt with him.

It's too late for him now.
He has displayed over six years of total weakness and incompetence on the foreign stage. At this point, it's really too late for him to suddenly "get tough". There is nothing that the Obama-led USA can do now to influence world events, besides perhaps bribe nations with money that we don't have.
All we can do is learn a hard life lesson about voting Democrats into FedGov offices.
PS Today, Obama showed signs of trying to get tough with Russia, but, it is really too late. Europe will not follow his lead, because they have no regard for him whatsoever. He is a non-entity to European leaders, and, he will continue to be a disregarded non-entity to them, no matter what he does.
Obama's foreign policy is bankrupt, inept, incompetent, kaput, finished and dangerous.
