What did you mean by it?

I meant he will probably tweet out or say something to the effect that he won't pay it and use it for the wall. Because, you know, he's having trouble with the wall.

Clearly, we believe that they have been lying. I'm not anti-Mexico or anything. In fact, I basically lived there for short time. However, despite my enjoyment of their country, I doubt their government has the capacity to monitor fishing to an extent that would satisfy international rules.

I tend to agree. And to think they have people monitoring all of their fishing boats seems a stretch, at best. However, the WTO seems to agree, but world entities tend to lean towards everybody but the US. It seems it's the old "The US is rich, so they can afford it." mentality.

Got you.
I have a feeling the wall will at least get started. However, I would be happy if they just clamped down with patrols at the border and deported all illegal immigrants that create problems in the US. Or, for that matter, as they come across those who are here illegally, deport them, too.

I don't know of a single developed country that has open borders. And Mexican immigration laws are more strict than ours, from what I understand.

I am amazed at how the left continues to tie Trump to everything.

This is an indictment against Obama allowing this to get to this point, and you don't criticize Obama...you take a dig at trump.
This has been going on since 1980, and came to a head with a lawsuit in 2008 just before Obama went into office. He allowed it to fester, and in fact, made things worse while in office, yet you try to turn this into a dig at Trump.

All of that said....since this was bad enough for you to start a thread, will you at least criticize Obama for allowing it to get to this point?

ETA
I am confused. You link and long post/copy and paste is about the "Tuna War", but you take a dig about the wall. Is this about the "Tuna War" or about the wall?

The WTO actually enforced things by authorizing countries to disregard protections for U.S. IP on a pretty regular basis. This means that copyrighted material can be hosted on a server within the country and the government (and therefore server owners) can disregard DMCA notices.

When the U.S. previously ignored the WTO on internet gambling in Antigua, that relief was granted. Thus if you participate in viewing unauthorized shows/movies/music at the moment there is a real likelihood that material is being housed in Antigua.

This is just a friendly tidbit. frick non-dolphin safe tuna.

I'm not sure what species of tuna this is talking about but my family was in the wholesale tuna ( yellowfin, bigeye, bluefin, etc.) and we imported fish from mexico for 15+ years.

All the fish we bought were caught off of longline boats which do not target dolphin. The only way of fishing that targets dolphin is purse seins which is a big bot that drops a smaller boat with nets on it and the boat does a circle to capture the fish in the middle. It basically catches everything in the net's path.

The only type of tuna this still occurs on today is for skipjack tuna (cheaper version of tuna not for sushi or nice restaurants which then becomes canned tuna).

Sure. Once I get an update on Mexico paying for the wall and an update on anyone paying for the wall. .

Are you talking about criticizing Obama for the great tuna war for a wall or wall related issues?

But the title of your thread is about Tuna, not a wall. The only original comment you made was about the Wall.

I am criticizing Obama for the Tuna situation and WTO fines, as per your OP.
You seem to be the only one wanting to stray for the OP. (Which I can't blame because the issue as in the OP is clearly Obama's fault.

ETA
If you want an update on the wall or who will pay for the wall, I suggest you start a new thread about that subject.
